Should I remove it? Better flow? Sound? What could I cap it off with?

Removing that extra chamber allegedly does increase your intake noise, if you're into that. Capping it is the challenge... I've heard of others using anything from PVC pipe caps to Pringles lids close the hole. I haven't personally tried that DIY mod... yet.

I'm actually looking the improve the air flow... If it get's louder that's fine. It looks like the intake would flow better if the air didn't have to go into that silencer on it's way to the throttle body. I would want the cap to look nice, preferably black.

if a free flow air intake gives you a max of 8hp at the wheels, how much could this possibly give you? i would be just a bit concerned with something getting sucked into the airway here. be it a bit of plastic from cutting or the prigles cap.
if you want a mean sounding engine for little to no money, this might be your best bet. i would only do this for sound as there's little to no performance gain. a high temerature silicone sealant should keep the cap on.

Your local hardware store typically has a decent selection of 3" pipe fittings. Look for the black rubber caps, which typically have hose clamps around them. That would give the "Black" look you're wanting and seal the opening nicely.

If you do change it like they said it will defiantly make it louder that along with a nice k&n open air filter and it sounds great. I used a PVC cap and cut a notch for the sensor to fit in to the end of the cap when I removed the air box.

I'll have to look around and see if I can find a nice cap.
