Nice, have fun! I really dont think anyone with an Aurora has, as any tranny work is $1000. Probably check some 3800's series cars as they get crazy with mods.
EDIT: Didn't that turbo Seville posted awhile back have a high-stall?

Boy does that car look familiar. Reminds me of the time I ran a 14.8 and humiliated a Miata...

I'd like to post a video of me doing 15.15 @ 91.58mpg with VERY FEW mods. Its around 3mb but i don't want to take the time to set up webspace to post it. I'll send it to someone if they will post it for me. Its a nice vid with me running an '02 yellow Mustang GT. yeah i lost but still.... Let me know the specs (year, mods, autobahn or not) on your car so I can update the first post in the sticky properly. The video is here: members.aol.com/aurora402002/temp/aurorabraindrag.mpgNote you'll need some codec to play an mp4 file, the video most likely won't play for you with Quicktime or WMP. I only managed to get the video with no sound to play.

What's the corsa mod?

Very impressive when you consider that the only real mod that Aurora40 made was to put in the Corsa system.

Spent Saturday at the 4th Annual Altona Airport Drags. Although it was a 1/8 mile format instead of the standard 1/4 mile it was still a great day. Perfect R/T was set at .500 so I did ok on a couple of races and not so well on the other 2. The car ran very consistently but I screwed up in the qualification race by inadvertently switching from power to normal on the shifter. I wouldn't have won anyway but I was dissappointed that my speed ended up being under 71mph. I lost to a modified 2004 Tiburon (oh, the shame). Temperatures were running around 28C with a humidity of about 60%.

Here are my runs. Forgot to shift into 3rd for run number two, thus the slow mph and trap speed. Car has airbox mod and K&N. Also the honeycomb has been removed from the MAF. I think one of the coilpacks is bad though. Run Number 1 Run Number 2 (Hitting the rev limiter in second gear.) Run Number 3

Added. However, what year is your car and is it an autobahn? I guessed a '97 with autobahn, but I'll update it when you tell me.

Wow a V8 powered car with double the horsepower beat a 4 banger miata... Lets see that race again but against a BMW 540... When you decided to be sarcastic, did you take into account that the miata averages 1500 to 2000 pounds LESS weight than the Aurora? I think that levels the playing field quite significantly, dont you?

Does anyone have 1/4 mile performance numbers for second gen 3.5L engines? Not from a drag strip. Why not be the first? Wow a V8 powered car with double the horsepower beat a 4 banger miata... Lets see that race again but against a BMW 540... When you decided to be sarcastic, did you take into account that the miata averages 1500 to 2000 pounds LESS weight than the Aurora? I think that levels the playing field quite significantly, dont you? It doesn't really matter. That's who was in line so that's who I raced. The real point of the video was that I ran a 14.8, not that I beat a Miata.

So Auroraguy95 and I went to an 1/8th mile drag strip Friday night. This was the first time he ran his Aurora since the 4.6 install. The track was CRAP. I took my old GTP and couldn't get any traction with 255/50-16 BFG drag radials @18psi, and i should also mention that they weren't spraying VHT so the 60' times were crappy. He ran a best of 9.22 @ 78mph in the 1/8th. If it weren't for traction issues i think it could have ran better than a 9.10. We were both impressed. When i get a chance to scan the time slip i'll post it. Using a quarter mile calculator we're estimating around a 14.3x in the quarter at about 98mph. I suppose only time will tell, in the next couple weeks we're hoping to hit a 1/4 mile strip. I'm sure one of us will keep updates posted as they happen.

IMO a 14 second car isn't a 14 second car unless it can do it on almost any normal road at normal tire pressures.

To clarify your jabs about traction, exactly how many times have you run a car at a drag strip?

IMO a 14 second car isn't a 14 second car unless it can do it on almost any normal road at normal tire pressures. Most good tracks spray VHT (Trackbite, 72.10.43.141/trackbite.htm ) to aid in the traction of wrinkle wall and drag radial tires. Drag radials are designed to be ran at low tire pressure. I progressively went from about 25psi down to 18 which is about the lowest i go on the tires i have. I wasn't driving my Aurora, i had a '98 Grand Prix GTP. A 14sec car is always a 14sec car unless it's raining or snowing IMO.

nope, never done my car at a track, any of them, and never will. That is rediculous: "yeah, it does 14 seconds at the track, but only 14.8 seconds on regular roads because of "traction issues". LMAO lol
