I lined up with a classic aurora earlier this week. It was pretty beat and it was a young guy driving it. It was at a light and after the light the speed limit is 70 MPH. He gets my attention by honking his horn lightly. I look over and he points forward and revs his engine. I figure what the hell. Light goes green we both gun it. He gets no tire spin, mine spin pretty good. I pull on him until we get to 45 or so MPH then as it sounded like he shifted into second gear he started to walk me. It was no competition after 70 MPH.. he gained more space between my car and his. Mine pretty much dies after 2nd gear. Seems the 4.0 classic starts pulling harder in 2nd gear.

Dan, you gotta hit the track sometime so we can have at least some 3.5 numbers.
Steven, since that one shifted @ 45, I think you have a big chance lol.

I meant that mine shifts at like 35, so that classic was a non-autobahn (like yours), so if you ever get to run Dan, you have a shot of winning.

well, it did beat me but it wasn't by a whole bunch. By the time I hit the speed limit he was only about a car length ahead of me.

True, so at 70, the typical 1/8 mph for classics you were a car behind, so by the quarter, about 1 3/4 cars back, which would be about 1/2 sec? Or a 16.3? (On a classics 15.8 E/T).
But you said he didn't spin them and it looked a little ratty, so it could have been a slower classic too. Who knows, just some hypothetical ramblings.

Don't worry Dano, I really don't enjoy reading about a fellow member getting beat, but you know the old Classic Aurora mantra.....get it over 4000 RPM. Consolation Prize: Your car is newer, cleaner and more cared for
