Marc -- fantastic -- thank you so much for doing the legwork! I checked out Westers and there's even a local dealer literally not more than three miles from my house if I have any issues...

Letitroll98: Can you advise where one finds the definitions for all the codes on the RPO list you referenced above. I'd like to understand all the various codes, but can't seem to find this info. Regards: kenny

Okay, please correct me if I am wrong and I have read this entire thread.
The engine is the same in both cars but the Autobahn has a 3.71 final, V rated tires, and the higher speed limiting computer?

Okay, please correct me if I am wrong and I have read this entire thread. The engine is the same in both cars but the Autobahn has a 3.71 final, V rated tires, and the higher speed limiting computer? There is no speed limiter on the Autobahn pkg, except for physics. Otherwise you are perfectly correct. I just cut and pasted Dred98's web page www.howardm.net/dred98/autobahn.php in answer to someones question (and gave proper credit of course). As it was the second post in the thread I had no idea it would be a "sticky" and live on this long or I would have checked for accuracy. In answer to kenny's question we can refer to another of Howard's pages for at least the '98 RPO codes: www.howardm.net/dred98/1998rpo.phpHoward, or Dred98, has a great Aurora site at www.howardm.net/dred98/aurora.php and all members should check in to look at his well researched Aurora info, especially the "Under the Hood" section. He posts infrequently these days and we are all the poorer for it.

No one has yet to crack the PCM. Do you have Autobahn? or are you limited to 108 mph?

It's nice to finally be contradicted when it comes to PCM hacking.

95,96,97,98,99 could all be autobahn equiped but the 2000+ did not come as such dred98s page has the details on how to figure it out but dont trust the label on the spare cover as it could be a replacement cover. instead check the factory label inside the driver door.

This isn't important, but just a reminder: There was no 2000 model year for Auroras.

While I knew what the Autobahn package was from reading my '95 sales brochure, I never knew an easy way to see if my car had it... until now. Nice surprise & just one more thing to like about the car. I had the rebuilt tranny installed a while back and I'm wondering if that might have changed my final drive ratio? Does any one know? I sure learn a lot from reading these threads. J

So, am I correct in my thinking that, since my Aurora recently reached a speed of 127 (approx. it was over 125 but under 130), it is an Autobahn?

Not a speed I plan on seeing often but I had wide open highway for several miles and not a car in sight so I figured I'd "try her out"

^^as you should! You've gotta give her a test run every once in a while! I've been to 130 myself, couldn't get that last 5mph b/c I had to exit the highway lol.

All you 1G owners worrying about whether or not your car is an autobahn. Yeesh.. Just buy a 2G, that way you won't have to worry.
