Hey, Im new to the forum and I've heard about the RSM Racing throttle body but I cant find it no where. Everytime I try their site it doesnt show up as a site anymore. Does anyone know where I can purchase one of these from or how to get ahold of the company? Also, while doing this what would be some other recommended intake upgrades, if any? Im new to this car also so I dont know what all can be upgraded yet.

RSM is out of business. The enlarged 80mm TB is hard to come by these days. The easiest intake mod to do is gut the internals of the stock airbox, put in a K&N drop in filter and plug the resonator opening on the intake tube with a lid from a 1 gallon jug and a hose clamp.
Some have done pipe intakes, but for best results you'd need to make some kind of heat shield and insulate the intake tub with some kind of heat repelling insulation.
If modding is you're game, there isn't much by way of performance, but there are several bolt on mods you can take from other GM cars to improve what is already there. Don't bother asking about a PCM, because unless you have a '95, there isn't a cost effective product out there.

Thanks for the help, how are the Secret Weapon intakes, are they worth getting? Or would it be better to gut it and use the K&N air filter? By the way I have a 01. What bolt on mods can be used from other GM cars? Thanks again for any help.

Like I mentioned, you'd get good results if you did the pipe intake properly, Aurora40 has a really good intake set up on his 02 4.0, but he also have the full Corsa exhaust on his car.
Personally, I've, been very happy with my gutted stock air box and K&N.
Do you have a 3.5 or 4.0?
You can take suspension parts from Cadillac, brakes from a Buick Lucerne and wheels from any GM car with a 5x115 bolt pattern.

I have a 4.0. Which would be better getting the corsa exhaust for the cadillac modded to fit the aurora or getting a custom stainless steel setup from a shop? The shop would be cheaper but the corsa sounds good and looks better.
Which cadillac model can the suspension parts be taken from and what year Buick Lecerne for the brakes?
Thanks for the quick responses. Im trying to plan what Im doing with my car because winters coming up and my car is getting put up and Im going to try and get most of it done by spring, providing money is right.

The Corsa needs to be modified as it is for the previous gen STS. Several of us have upgraded with Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Borla etc.
Have a look around the forums and look for brake upgrades, suspension upgrades etc. No need to bump old threads with new posts, but there is great information here to reference. Spend some time and have a look around.

Yep, an 80mm throttle body is about as good as history, though for a 01+, it never was an option. RSM is gone, and the guy doing them for Caddies (it fit the classic though) has moved on.
For a 2nd Gen, gutted airbox is the way to go. For exhaust, if I would have been able to afford it, I would have bought the Corsa just for the tips.

I would be surprised if between RSM and the individual guy, they sold 10 80mm TBs combined. And no, it wouldn't work on an '01, the throttle body is completely different, and you'd have to remove and bore the water crossover as well. If you care to see: www.geocities.com/aurora402002/TB.htmlCustom88 might have a cone intake and PCM tray still? He had it on his 3.5L and then removed it. I don't know if he sold it? Here is a description of how I gutted my airbox: aurorah.proboards47.com/index.cgi?board=Zoom&action=display&thread=1183302785Custom88 did this first, though I can't find the write-up.

Just curious.... Where would I buy an 80mm throttle plate? I could machine these throttle bodies myself if I had a source for the throttle plates.

Are you talking about the butterfly or the TB spacer?

80 MM my arse!!! I tried boring the throttle body off of the OE motor to 80 mm. I think 79 would have been a more conservative estimate. I will be going to the junkyard to get another throttle body as soon as I have the money. I WILL GET THIS RIGHT DAMMIT!!!

They were indeed not 80mm, 79.6mm I believe.

I was wondering what happened to RSM. I used to see their pimped out 2nd Gen here at my office at Yorkdale mall a couple of times a week.

Gonna drag up another old thread. Several years later and I am back at another machine shop. CNC this time!!! I will be CNC boring and building a throttle plate in the near future. Stay tuned. I say near future but right now there is a new baby in my life and a custody battle for the other two. Kinda eats up the finances. If this project is successful, and the demand is still around, I will save the program and the templates to offer this service to our members. Off the top of my head I would say look at the $200 range.

Nice! However, you'll find most here are not willing to even throw $50 at their Aurora for a modification.

Sad to hear. I've been a member for quite some time and I hate to see that the activity and enthusiasm has died out.

Not saying someone won't buy one but I wouldn't machine ten of them and expect to sell them here haha. There is always the cadillac forum crowd though too
