Read "Why Oldsmobile Did Not Have To Die "Seems like GM's mind was already made up; don't confuse it with the facts. A very sad article and most informative. Makes you pretty irritated with GM for such foolishness and betrayal of such an honorable and distinguished nameplate as "OLDSMOBILE." BRING IT BACK NOW!

Well, I've already commented on my feelings re Oldsmobile's demise. Years ago I worked for GM in OKC- that experience will allways remain as a high point of my professional life. Articles like this, however, bring back stong, long frogotten emotions about the trials and tribulations of GM. I suggest you read On a Clear Day You Can See General Motors by J. Patrick Wright.

I won't lie, I shed a tear . The last paragraph about what if Lutz had been there in time and image what Olds would have become really gets me the most. Although, the Soltice (sp.) better be a big hit because the GTO and SSR haven't been the smash hits they were suppose to be, or its Lutz's tail and that would spell the end for GM perfornance for a long time to come (besides $60k Cadillacs).
