Received a gift certificate from work for Borders Bookstore. I ordered up two books, of course, Oldsmobile being the marquee of choice. 1. Racing to the Past. Oldsmobile and it's Demise by D. Dale Smith (pub. 2004). The book came autographed and dated (I wasn't expecting this). It even has the address and phone number to Dale himself. Very Cool, though I won't bother the man, he is in his early 80's. Read it from cover to cover, it is fairly short at 99 pages and has lots of neat photographs. Sadly, I found no Aurora pictures but there are a few references to the car. The author has some interesting viewpoints which some may not like but I happen to agree with. A nice read and very well worth the $15.00 especially since it is personally autographed. My copy was free for me. 2. Oldsmobile Muscle Cars: Interchange Parts Buyers Guide Recent publication of 2003 by Robert Sexton. This book is covers all the interchangeable mechanicals for 1964 through 1972 Cutlass, 442 and H/O's as well as 1966 through 1972 Toronado and Toro GT. If you are parts nut and are into that vintage of Oldsmobile then it's a worthwhile investment. My copy was $20.00 and I would have paid that if it wasn't free (again). ;D
