Yep I would agree with Marc but Jim also stated another AWESOME one and i was just thinking about that. I thought it was a 740iL but it may have been the 12-cylinder 750.

I thought of some more... The hwy scene in the Matrix Reloaded with the poor Auroras and Intrigues getting crushed and in Bad Boys 2 when the Haitians were dropping cars off the transport rig...that was pretty nutz!

The French Connection, with gene Hackman's breakout role. The absolute best of the "classic" film chases, out Bullitt's Bullitt.

Bill Hickman, who drove the Charger in Bullitt, also did the driving in The French Connection. He filled in for Gene Hackman & didn't appear onscreen in The French Connection.

I think the BMW 525i/Peugeot 406 chase in "Ronin" was pretty good, and I'm a fan of both the "Matrix: Reloaded" (though it's super-cheesy and terribly edited) and "Transporter" scenes.

Bullitt, Ronin, Gone In 60 Seconds ('67 GT 500 is my dream car, not an Eleanor but the real thing) are the greatest car chase scenes (in that order). But, you can't forget the chase scene in Blues Brothers (gotta love the car falling apart at the seams).

The original Gone in 60 Seconds was behind the Nicolas Cage remake??? The remake has about a 10 minute chase scene. In the original, it's about 40+ minutes. The original is an awesome movie if you've never seen it! But the Bullitt chase scene is pretty awesome too. No surprise it's the most well-known.

I forgot about Gone in 60 seconds (1998). That is my all-time favorite for real.

I'll have to agree with the movie BULLIT[/b], the best car chase, you got to feel that raw horse power from the FORD and Pontiac vehicles, specially with a loud system, man my house was trembling with all that noise from BULLIT. I liked it, got the DVD too. But if you want to see some nice flicks with cars, go to the BMW website and order yourself a copy of their BMW Films, I got their DVD and man it's cool to see Clive Owen handle them Bimmers like nothing. Yeah you right, while it looked like a sedan, it was a 2 door though.
