Possible road rage shooting investigated By Ann McGlynn A man who said he was shot after a road-rage incident in Moline is recovering from his injury, police said. Bonnie and Clyde are back! "Road rage" is a highly abused and over used term from someone passing a car that is going slow to the above. Theres too much rage over so-called "Road rage."

Yes! I think so too. There are phone numbers advertised where you can report aggressive drivers. I've legally passed left lane bandits on the right and cut over in front of them (not dangerously, just enough to 'advise' them they needed to have moved over to the right lane) and they raced up behind me getting my plate number and holding up their cell phone. I assume they're indicating they are reporting me. I indicated what I think of their driving habits by expressing to them by hand gestures that they are "number one" in my book. I've never been pulled over down the road, even after passing state police cars shortly down the road, so I suppose they ignore these calls, I dunno.

Wow! A person who can recognize an Aurora at all, let alone after the trauma of an accident and then being shot!

Been there too Dan. Unbeliveable how angry people get at my supposed "road rage." They are the road rage when they get upset when you pass them and they are driving 40 in a 55. That is rude on their part and that's why there's a passing zone for me!

LOL Dan people get up behind you and hold up their phones..thats funny. Only in Jersey i suppose...only in Jersey.
Lately i have been laying back, passing or "weaving" thru traffic not signaling. Its fun.

i usually drive to work before anyone is awake here so i take it nice and slow... till i hit the highway then it's 140 all the way. this weekend there were a lot of ricers out. i must have blown half a tank of gas. these tires sure sound sweet on the newly paved roads

Y I've legally passed left lane bandits on the right and cut over in front of them (not dangerously, just enough to 'advise' them they needed to have moved over to the right lane) I do the same thing, but not really on the highway. I usually do this when they pull in front of me and drive 35-45 in a 55 MPH zone. I'll usually back about 3 car lenghts behind them in order to slow just enough so My transmission will downshift to 1st and gain the most speed and 'fly' around the person and when I get about 2 car lengths in front of them I merge into the right lane extremely quickly. by the time I've gotten around the car in front of me I can usually be up to 70-75 MPH if I was at around 35 when I started the passing maneuver. The 2nd gen handles lane changes admirably.. especially quick ones. lol. this lets the person know I'm not too happy with their choice to pull in front of me when no one is behind me, then proceed to drive 20 under the limit.. argh. it seems to happen almost on a daily basis now too!

You drive 140mph to work?? He's from Canada so he might mean 140kph which would only be about 85mph, but that is just a guess.

Glad I'm not the only one. What I find most effective is to speed up, not too much, and not completely change lanes (have some of your right in the right lane for example).

I really love doing this when people get slow in the left lane like that Dan. It happens to me a lot too. When i was driving the jaguar that time, i weaved inbetween everyone.
I also do not use my signal when rippin' to the right really quick to let people know they needed to have moved. lol. do you?

I always use my turn signals. ah ha! this brings me to another pet peeve.. When you're stopped at a 3-way intersection waiting to turn left and a car coming from your left doesn't use their turn signal until about 30 feet before they turn so you waited all that time to go when you could have gone if you knew they were actually GOING to turn. Or, people who don't signal until just a few seconds before they turn.. that really gets me going. Or the elderly who don't turn it on until they START TURNING ALREADY OR THEY DON'T EVEN USE IT AT ALL!! Do I have road rage much? oh no.. not me. lol. ;D

People who don't use their turn signals really chap my behind. Driving is one of those activities that shouldn't be a guessing game. As long as I am on the subject...people who merge at high speed and immediatley shoot over to the passing lane then slow down is another pet peeve. Don't even get me statred on "YIELD" signs.

I agree with you 100%. Do I have road rage? Yes, I would say so, I would never go ballistic and pull a gun or anything but I do my share of yelling and signaling with my fingers ;D and my horn has broke a couple times because I use it so much. ;D

Don't even get me statred on "YIELD" signs. this guy did that once when i was in the fast lane while he was on his cell phone so i flashed his lights and he brake checked me in his mercedes and i was in my 2003 dodge ram. i flew around him and put those brakes to the floor. then he pulled beside me and i told him what i thought of him and his driving. turns out i ended up meeting him a day later.

Oh good night, those cell phones should be outlawed - unless you are hands free - while driving. Most always cell users look like drunks going down the road.

My Dad had an incident last year. A pickup pulled a right turn from the left hand lane in front of my Dad. Not even at a light - just veered over. At the next light my Dad was next to him and just shook his head in disgust (my Dad is pretty passive). The passenger in the truck leaned out the window and took a bat to my Dad's Deville (2002) side view mirror. Needless to say my Dad was stunned. Lucky a good Samaritan witnessed the whole thing and followed the truck until a he got a police unit on his cell phone.

That is the type of reason why I don't carry a gun in my car, because I with my temper I would have shot and killed the guy. Gosh... Me too... I get so mad. I've also noticed two different variations on this situation. Category One are innocents, usually elderly people who seem not to be able to distinguish the traffic pattern around them. They're still very dangerous, but it's not really their fault. Category Two are idiots who should know better, Mercedes drivers on their cell phones, 30-Something women who are too into themselves, and nearly everyone in a full size pickup or any-size SUV, who use their size (and, apparently, their self-indulgence) as a weapon on the road. I would never do anything other than a warning-beep to Category One, but Category Two members deserve to be decked, at the very least.

You forgot about Category Three, young punks who think they own the road because they have a big car and a driver's license. Maybe that fits into a subcategory of Two's "idiots", but at least deserves mention since that's what I see most often.

Yeah, exactly. They are the ones swerving in and out of lanes constantly and then taking an exit.
