It's about time! Those cars have always annoyed me in some unexplainable way, for reasons I still can't figure out.

Two words, rental car.
I've never liked them, but basic transportation is basic transportation. The SRT-4's are pretty cool and a great performance bang for the buck. But, every SRT-4 owner will tell you their cars aren't Neons.
Yea, there are worse cars with dulled headlights, the 92-96 or whenever Escorts. Everyone is bad. I've seen good Neons before, but never a good Escort.

I hate these things. Thank God they are gone.

11 years is a good run. I remember when this car was first introduced they could not keep up with the demand.

They were cheap transportation for the masses, however they were plagued with the typical Chrysler problems with a/c, transmissions and head gaskets. They were not a good car for commuters because they aren't good high mileage vehicles. Cheap on gas yes, longetivity no. Good Riddance to an ugly car.

Oh yeah, did I mention that I'm not a big fan of Chrysler.

I can see that most here are not. However my dad had virtually problem-free Concorde for close to 10 years/200k before donating it. The driver's side hub bearing went at 127k but NOTHING else broke. I can't say the same about my Aurora.

Overall I have no problems with Chrysler... my wife's 1996 Avenger served us *very* well for ~7 years and 120k miles. Had one head gasket replaced under warranty, and a $200 hub bearing at about 100k, but other than that I never spent a dime on any repairs. I had been considering purchase of a Pacifica, until a recent Aurora-owners review of one that was rented... now we'll have to wait and see.

The Pacifica is a bit under-powered but the interior resembles the Auroras a bit So it's like driving a jacked-up 4-cyl Aurora wagon

Funny, those are the same problems most of my family's GMs have had. Each person has different experinces with a current company. Still, we prefer GM over Chrysler.

Good riddance. I hate the SRT-4 as well, they are still cheap and plasticky inside. It's just gross. They bother me like scotty does and I dont know why either. Perhaps its the folks that drive them really escalate the bad image we have of them. Usually young college girls or old folks drive standard Neons.
But yes, they would be a PERFECT rental car. I would neutral drop it at every stoplight.
