I can't understand why GM would want them back... especially since it sounds like they will go to auction and be sold as USED? Where is the business incentive in that?

Sounds like it's an agreement with the dealer to buy them back after a certain period of time - like a year perhaps? I mean if I was a dealer, one incentive for me to sell a certain brand of car would be such an agreement. It lessens the risk for me of putting these cars out on the lot, and GM offering such agreements to dealers expands their reach, as more people become GM dealers. But all of that is just a guess... I thought that at first
