Now, where they screwed up is they should have offered a half ton version with the 5.4 or an extended expedition. The expedition isnt long enough compared to the suburban and the excursion doesnt offer the mileage comparisons. You just cant take away from a company that has been making the suburban right for sooo many years

That's funny, I thought those were gone a few years ago! I maybe see 1 on the road every couple weeks. That obviously shows that Ford wasn't too worried about marketing the name and keeping it around...

That thing is a massive gas hog and thankfully won't be made anymore!

I seen one of these pass me on the highway. It had to have been doing 85 and the first thing that came to mind was, his MPG has to be in the single digits...

I remember cross-shopping them with the Suburban for my mom. Suby was just better in every way. And was so much more pleasing on the eyes too. The V10 did get horrible mileage. The diesel was a better though. They just suffered usually FORD problems.

The V10 wasnt as quick as the F250 V10 is hehe. My neigbor who owns a F250 V10 truck (that thing is QUICK), had a diesel excursion before that. He slid it out in the winter and wrapped it around a pole going about 45 though.
But yeah im glad they stopped meakin em. It erally had to end sometime.

SUV's are in their waning hours across the board. There's no way they will survive their popularity with gas running over $2 a gallon.

Eh, not necessarily. Theres people out there that still love having them for travel vehicles..you can haul so much stuff. My dad loves having ours ( their second one) because its got four wheel drive and it can pull our boat. Not to mention all the things they can do with them. I feel, if you can afford it you can afford to drive it.

I agree with 95rora too. I think the fall of sales might initially hurt sales of all SUVs, but I feel that large SUVs and Lux SUVs will continue to sell because their owners really do need a large SUV and owners of Lux's can afford them. Sure, they'll complain and threaten to sell them, but its not going to happen. What happens when you need to take the boat and 3 kids out? Even a crew-cab HD pick-up isn't large enough inside.
I think I said this before, but both my parents have SUVs, a Suburban and an Envoy. They both really like 'em. They ride and drive really well. They both complain too, but there not running out to trade them in. Also, they run on regular fuel, the Envoy gets better mileage, and the Suby and I are neck and neck.
