So Ive been debating.....I was thinking about upgrading the wheels on my 95 to maybe the chrome aurora wheels from say 97-99. Then again, I really like the looks of the 17's from the 01-03's. Does anyone know of someone who has done this to their classic. I really like the looks of them and think theyd really set off the lines on my car..... but I want to be sure. I never did a wheel upgrade on my truck because I didnt find ones that really set it off. I would like to do something that not too many others have done which is why I bought the car, not too many people here had one(however ive noticed others have had my same idea). What do you guys think? ?

I don't recall ever seeing a classic on 2nd gen wheels. I'm completely with you on wanting to do something unique, which is exactly why I put the 300C wheels on my classic. The 2nd gen wheels should look pretty clean on your ride, I'll have to whip up a photoshop to double-check ;D

Thatd be awesome......Aw the capabilities of Computers. I guess another possibility could be the Bonneville GXP wheels or maybe the new Grand Prix GXP wheels but I would tend to think they might be a little hard to come by right now. But yeah, Ive seen lots of wheel upgrades on classics but nobody ever with 2nd gen wheels.

Here's one I threw together; It's a classic on chrome 17s from a 2nd gen 4.0. Personally, I think the wheels compliment the car beautifully. You be the judge... -Shawn

the 2nd gen rims look real classy on the classic! That gets my vote. The V6 rims probably wouldn't match the classic as well, although I do like them better than the stock classic wheels personally.

It was the old header pic wasn't it? A black classic with 17 chromes? That was a lot prettier than the one we have now..

I know of at least four people that have 2nd gen wheels on a classic. Two I've posted picts of before. I can try to find them again. Here is Stickking's car. He's a member here: I have picts of the black one, but I'm having probs with the server it is on. Ok, here are some picts of it: www.geocities.com/aurora402002/edmunds.html

They look a lot better on the classic than on the 2nd gen in my opinion - but they do raise it a little too much, maybe with a 0.5" lowering it would look perfect.

Well may not be the first one, but id be the only one around Iowa. Thats such a sweet lookin wheel. Hey, if any of you 2nd gen owners want to upgrade from your stockers we can work out a deal. Might even consider 16's but would like to have the 17 chromes.

Hey Javi, that is a sweet looking classic. The black classic sets off those 2nd genners beautifully. Who does that baby belong to?

Hey Javi, that is a sweet looking classic. The black classic sets off those 2nd genners beautifully. Who does that baby belong to? It belongs to the author of the classic airbox mod. He also has an 80mm TB and a Corsa exhaust. He really needs to visit a track with that thing!

I guess another possibility could be the Bonneville GXP wheels or maybe the new Grand Prix GXP wheels but I would tend to think they might be a little hard to come by right now. Bonneville wheels on Auroras are quite encouraged around here. Although JimW and I went with chrome SSEi wheels from different Bonneville body styles.

Well, if I'm gonna spend the money on em I guess it should be worth while and be REALLY what I want. Those ssei wheels look amazing on the Aurora, I must admit. Wonder what the gpgt and gpgtp five spoke twists would look like.... got any of those in the photo shop. Have to be chrome of course.

Thanks I've seen GTP wheels on a Bonneville, and they don't quite work IMO... the spokes are too narrow to look right on a big car. I'd imagine it might have the same visual affect on an Aurora. You need something with wider spokes to accentuate the aggressive styling of the car.
