Now that we've all been bounced back here to ACNA v1 for awhile... what do you all think? Stay here at Proboards? Keep looking for another "new" webhost for an updated ACNA site/forums? Just looking for some member opinions.
Personally, I really liked v2. But, I've gotten used to v1 again and feel comfortable staying here. There are some limitations to how these forums can be set up, but Proboards is free, recently upgraded, doesn't have too many ads, and I haven't been experiencing much network congestion lately. I'd like to avoid the hassle and stay here, unless any of the above conditions change dramatically.

at start I really liked v2 much more, now I even can't remember why - so I must admit that v1 is fine now... especially having a skin choice and post speller, thats cool.

Done...here we stay.
If we continue to do annual contribution drives, what would you want to see it go towards?

How about my pocket?
Seriously how about some kind of club decal or shirts or something with the club logo on it.

Wow, unanimous voting so far! Of course there are many more than 11 ACNA members, but it is nice to see everyone agreeing so whole-heartedly. Seriously how about some kind of club decal or shirts or something with the club logo on it. I like this idea too. Does anyone have experience (or know someone who does) in the T-shirt screen printing business?

I have to say, I like it here a lot better too... For one, I hardly have to do anything! I was in Seattle on business last week and never thought about the board much at all. Had we been on v2, I'd have been worried something would get broken or go down or whatnot. As an aside, it's possible we could use something like a v2 place as a photo gallery, a main web page host, tech info host, etc. We would then really only need bandwidth, not processing power, as it would just be a file host not a forum host. In the future I will try to update some of the smilies we have here, though this is somewhat limited. A file host would help, though for now I'm happy to use my available hosting via my aol account (in case you haven't noticed, that's where some of the headers and avatars are from).

You could always open up a photobucket.com account for the site too. They allow several GB worth of transfer each month. A paid account would be even better and it's' pretty cheap too.. Just a thought.

Does anyone have experience (or know someone who does) in the T-shirt screen printing business? I would do shirts if everyone could chip in 3 or 4 dollars. They are like $10 a shirt for just plain white and i think $14 for a beefy black tee. We had shirts done at this place a while ago for something else. Only thing is the cheaper blanks are 100% cotton, and tend to shrink a little bit. The half polyester ones are around 4 bucks more but dont shrink. I could afford to eat up half the cost anyway. I would do it just for the club cause we need to have some thing here guys. I feel like getting this from StickerGirl and putting it across my windshield. My dad doesnt think it would look right, I am not sure...Or maybe just the back window aurora (A) logo.

I've always liked that windshield sticker from Stickergirl, but I can't put it on my 2001 because the moisture sensor for the wipers is in the way.

Geez Marc! First the neon blue shift knob, now you are talking about windshield banners! You could try getting the "A" in like 3' size and putting it on the back window! A club logo would be cool, I'd probably put that on my car as long as it was small and tasteful. I'd rather have club logo cards to hand out to potential members, though. Here is one thing, though, that I think Oldsmobile should have done back in 1995. They absolutely should have had a decal on the 1995 cars to commemorate the endurance records that the Aurora V8 set. And I would love to have one made up and put on the Aurora. GM included this decal on every 1991 Corvette ZR-1 after it set numerous endurance records: Decals were more common back then, for anything from noting the car had ABS (in fact, some cars would have a badge to note this, how lame is that?) to having the golden calipers to denote it was a Motor Trend Car of the Year. Setting production endurance records is a heck of a lot more notable.

If we continue to do annual contribution drives, what would you want to see it go towards? definitely an Aurora Club logo, not just an aurora logo, one that says Aurora Club of North America (and one person in europe ) lol, jk the thing that i would like though, is if our website was a regular www.whatever.com then we could put that on the logo and get some more aurora owners in here. just a thought

Geez Marc! First the neon blue shift knob, now you are talking about windshield banners! I really would like to use that windshield banner sticker. The neon blue shift knob, though, is another matter. When I first mentioned it, someone said that it looked "gay". That made me forget about the shift knob VERY fast!

Click on the "profile" link at the top of the page, with the other various links under the ACNA image. You can change all kinds of settings and modify your signature as well.

I'm looking into getting a club decal made, its a window cling that can be struck on the inside of the window.
I'll keep everyone updated on the progress. . .

I'm in favor of a low-profile decal, ideally an interior static cling with a clear background and white or gray text.
