The "door ding preventer" strips on my car are peeling. According to the second owner of the car they were doing that when he had it. Is anybody else having this problem as well? Whats the cost usually to replace them. Im planning on taking it in to have a couple of scratches repaired (somebody shot rocks out of a lawnmower and made two scratches on the front quarter panel) and was wondering how much extra these might cost. While some might say it might not be worth the money, this is the nices vehicle Ive ever owned myself and want to keep it that way.

I think that the side moulding is held on with double sided tape. I could be wrong, but that is how many other later-model GM vehicles are. They shouldn't need to be replaced unless they're already physically damaged. I don't know a price.

They're held by "snap-clips" as well as double-sided tape to stop them from shaking. I repainted (sort of) the passenger side on mine. Fairly easy to do yourself. Got the kit from paintscratch.com and a spray kit from wally-world though it doesn't match up very well at all.
