hello i was just browsing on the Oldsmobile Club of America website. I noticed that there is no Aurora chapter in existence, or any link to our website (unless i missed it)...i dont even think the word Aurora appears on their site at all, which is pretty sad, since they have an Alero chapter, a Toronado chapter, etc ......they even have E-mail links for G body owners, antique Olds owners, etc.....I think we should at least have a link on the OCA site so Aurora owners will know where to go if they look at OCA first....we dont have to be affiliated with them in any way,( and they even put a disclaimer)....i just feel that Aurora should be represented there in some way.... your thoughts?

Of course the Aurora should be mentioned at OCA. It's an Olds!

Maybe there is some way to create an Aurora Chapter much like the Toronado/Alero/57 chapters. How many people here are members of OCA, I am.

I am a memeber of OCA. The local Illinois Valley Chapter and Alero Chapter.
To become a member of OCA you have to hold elections for officers, yearly chapter dues, produce newsletter, follow their rules at a chapter sanctioned show, insurance at shows, etc etc. etc. Don't get me wrong, I have been a member of OCA for 27 years, but do you guys really want to go thru all that. I think we have a whopping 20 members in the Alero chapter nationwide.
Almost forgot about the lack of respect that all the newer cars get from many of the long time/hardcore members. It was amazing what the Alero chapter had to go thru to get in.

My local chapter of OCA "The Northern Lights" can appreciate the newer models, but they mostly consist of '60's and '70's Oldsmobiles. However they do not discriminate!

There are many guys that are cool with the newer cars and many that aren't. The ones that don't understand are idiots who do not realize that we are preserving the last of the Oldsmobiles ever made. At last years awards banquet a guy called out to one of the newer class winners when announced saying, "At least mines paid for" He did not realize I was at the table next to his, I responded back to him, "Neither is your jackass, I heard ya took out a home equity loan to finish yours" shortly after my car was announced as Best of Class and he said nothing. When he realized it was me getting up to get the award my wife said he just slumped a little in his chair. That made it that much sweeter.

I've found other Olds owners to like the idea of me bringing my 85 Olds to one of the shows as well as talking to other Olds owners. There were a few Auroras at the local OCA chapter show this year as well as last year.
