Hey Scotty, or Jim, or anybody, I accidently clicked one of the banner ads at the top of the page and it did something bad. everytime I try any of our web address it autimatically sends me to this stupid adbaaz.com / socal-something. I am currently using a friends computer to access this site. I am not real computer savy and don't have a clue on what to do. Please send response to my email as well in case I don't have access to another computer. Kapernicus@gmail.com thanks, dex

I don't know what would have caused it, but I'm guessing if you empty all your temporary internet files / cache and reset cookies (all from your browser) that should clear it up.
In Internet Explorer, along the top menu go to Tools -> Internet Options. On the "General" tab (which should be up by default), click the buttons "Delete Cookies", "Delete Files", and "Clear History". That will wipe out all the temporary stuff that remembers you every time you get online. Restart the browser and see if you can login.
In Firefox, it's a similar process. Go to Tools -> Clear Private Data. Once that is done, go to Tools -> Options. Under the "Privacy" tab, first select "Show Cookies" and then "Remove All Cookies". Restart the browser and check.
Let us know if that works! I'll e-mail this to you also.

woo hoo... success. Thanks guys Dang, I got to work today and had this same problem. When I clicked on login, it took me to some Socal Something site... my brief visit there told me it was more like a "Social" site, if you know what I mean. I am sure Oldsnut had something to do with it! ???I got back on, but there is still some chinese wording at the top. what's up with that? I wonder if it has to do with the guest we have had this morning...xjat. Can someone look into this?

I can't see how any visitor (guest or otherwise) could change what website a URL sends someone to ... but internet spam is getting more and more complex. Where did you see a post or reference to xjat? EDIT: nevermind, I found and deleted xjat's spam links in Electrical Section thread of this forum. If anyone clicked on any of the links, it could have screwed up some settings in your browser (which reseting the cookies will repair). Guests cannot post in any other areas of ACNA, specifically for reasons such as this. Hopefully that clears it up.

The ads are external from Google, so we have no control over that. I have Adblock installed with my browser so I don't even see the ads anyway. As long as no cryptic posts are left and nothing weird is happening with logins I think we're okay.

For anyone who is using a Mac with Safari, I just went to "Safari" drop down menue and clicked "reset safari". I have used this puter for a couple years now and never had to do that before, glad it was so easy.

OK, I give, what's it mean? All I found was Dao which means upside down or backwards...lol who you talkin' 'bout? **edit** Now onto more serious stuff. I really look forward to meeting all of you folks. I go onto many car forums and have been able to meet many new friends but the most cordial people are right here on ACNA!! Now I know you are talking about me
