Meguiar's ColorX really makes silver wheels shine. I cleaned the silver wheels on my 2001 & put ColorX on them. It also prevents brake dust from gathering on the wheels in any large amount..........................................

What color is your car, Marc? Is it silver or tan?

The color is called "Cappuccino". It looks like beige. I just noticed right now that the flash made it look like silver.

How well would this stuff work on chrome wheels? We're starting to get some stains that won't come off the chrome on the Aurora, and I've got quite a few nasty stains on the Galant (first & second owners obviously didn't take care of it). I should try some...

ColorX is a paint polish. I don't think that it would do anything for chrome. You need chrome polish for that.

I've used it before on paint and it works great. Also, I like those 01 wheels. They are twisted, never noticed that before. Would they fit on the older Aurora's?

Actually I have used a Mother's polish on my chrome wheels... it worked *great* to remove the brake dust (after applying some serious elbow grease) and gave my wheels that sought-after mirrored shine!

Oldsmama.....the 2001 wheels should fit the Classic. At one time, there was a header picture on this forum showing a Classic with the 2nd generation wheels.

And another thing about ColorX....it makes a shine really last. I used ColorX on the wheels several months ago. I buff them with a old towel once a week & they look just as good as when I first shined them.

I just tried the Color X....AMAZING...I have a black 02 and I did a comparison of half the hood with the color X and the other half clean...WHAT A DIFFERENCE. The Black looks like its brand new and soo deep. Also did the wheels and they came out amazing.
