I believe it to be good information. Besides, the leather that we have in the Aurora is coated with a thin layer of vinyl for protection and durability. Using a product originally designed for the fatliquoring of leather is just not appropriate for what is in our cars, and certainly won't give you the best results.
It's a great old wive's tale...and the makers of Saddle Soap are certainly not going to try to change that.

Eh, hard to say. I'm sure the AutoGeek people are paid to endorse certain leather-cleaning products, and can do so even better if they first discredit a product (saddle soap) that many people use. Some folks have had good luck with it on their Auroras, and like car speakers and many other maintenance items ... it's all subjective. What seems to work well and is enjoyed by one person may not fit the needs of the next.

I use saddle soap all the time on my 2 Auroras, and personally love the job it does. As Scotty says, anybody can put anything out there recommending the use of their product and bashing another. Use your own judgement. I generally use what I like and works for me regardless of someone else's opinion

Yup, that's all that really matters. Try it and see what you think.

its the only thing that finally worked for my seats as well as the grunge on the drivers seat-belt. I am however concerned with the Ph issue but i guess if used occationally and treated afterward it's ok.

Exactly TJM. PH is very important with the leather. 50 years ago it was common practice, but it's proven not the best thing to be using on your car seats.

You need to start a new thread with your mechanical questions, in the 95-99 Classic Aurora Maintenance forum. You can find it from the main page that shows all the different forum sections available.
