It's the other 'Prolong', boys. ;D Had the transmission flushed and added this to the new fluid. Gotta say that it's never shifted better. Cured a list of gremlins, including neutral-to-drive jerk (when cold), random hard shifts. Shifts like silk now, but without slipping. Sold for now, but I may have a different story in a year from now.

Do you know if it's the first time it's been flushed? did you add dex III or VI? Do you know how well the flushing machine was maintained? Was the pan dropped and the filters changed? Was/Were the magnet(s) cleaned in the pan? Did you check the fluid level before and after the proper way?
All I can say is good luck.

Do you know if it's the first time it's been flushed? No, it's been done before dex III (VI not required, and too expensive) No Yes Yes Yes Thank you

That is extremely interesting that someone dropped the pan when they flushed a transmission with a machine. Did you request it? #2- That is good that it's already been done before, it makes me not as scared for you. (not exactly sure what was already done before, but as long as it wasn't the original fluid).
Dex VI is not required by who? The owners manual that says that Dex III is required? Personally I would only use Dex VI.

This is a 2001 machine, so whatever was required in 2001 (or better) was what went into it. DexVI is really expensive here, so much that the stealership baulked at installing it.

They don't drop the pan at most places for a "flush"....
DexIII is fine, but that's like saying you won't put synthetic oil in a 1977 car because synthetic wasn't around at the time, so it doesn't need it.

If it shifts and runs fine then great...

I'm not arguing about the DexVI, BTW. Next time (shall we say in a year?) ;D

Can Dex III be mixed with DEX VI? Say if someone just had the pan dropped but not flashed?
