I asked for and received a Scytek Galaxy 5100 remote start for Christmas. They normally run around $170 for the entire setup. Anyways, it is a great product! I have been extremely happy with mine so far...it's been about a month and a half since I installed it. Basically every feature can be adjusted to your liking. It comes with 2 remotes - one has a color lcd. It is also a two-way unit, so it will vibrate(or beep...whichever you prefer) to let you know if the car started, if you're in range, or even if the alarm is triggered for any reason. I have it configured to lock and unlock, start, open the trunk, and turn on the heated seat. It wasn't too hard to install and there is plenty of room for the modules behind the ashtray in that pocket. I also was very happy with the directions. They don't bother wasting 30 pages telling you how to splice a wire, but just present the information you need(like what wire needs to be spliced to what) in an easy-to-read manner. It can be programmed by using a computer and usb hookup or by using the remote. Also, the range is just great! If you are looking for a remote start, it is definitely a system worth looking into. I believe I ended up using 3 or 4 relays to complete the install. So far the system has been great and the price is hard to beat. I would also be glad to provide install information if anyone needed. Not bad at all, I tend to go for the more well known names like CLIFFORD, but I have not heard of Galaxy 5100, but if you say that it works with you that is all that matters.
It's good that your were able to install it yourself, those things do get a bit complicated when it comes to doing the installation, if you know what I mean.

I had looked into clifford, but you just get a lot more bang for your buck with this setup. So far it's been great and it had good reviews, so I guess time will tell.

Sorry, I hadn't checked this in a while. They claim about a 3000 foot range, and I easily believe it would do that in a completely open area. If you're trying to start the car where the signal would have to go through a bunch of other cars, the range drops some. However, I can start it on the 6th floor of school inside with the car in the far corner of the lot. I haven't had a time I was in a place and wanted to start it but couldn't so far. Sometimes in the big stores you have to get close to the front just because of the material the signal must go through to get outside.

Nice. I have a Compustar Alarm System that does the same thing (I think I get a 1/2 mile range on mine) but I opted out of the Heated-Seat button. Is that just another relay? How did you make that one work?
