Extended Warranty's did you do it? One is shameles

Heard on the radio the other day about getting a extended warranty and 20% off by mentioning the Savage nation. yeah I was listening to talk radio. I really cant believe a national radio show would advertise for this corrupt and crappy company.

Anyway I call these people just to mainly see whats up. The place was called ndwwarranty.com/

National dealers warranty. On the the scam starts like this.

Sir your car is over the computers automatic kick off into the pits of hell of 125,000 miles Let us check with the manager to see if we can help your sorry ass.

Sir geee wiz is your car still running .....does it still work? What have you done to it? Gee wiz well ok, well hold on a minute.......
Good news my manager is letting us offer you a power train warranty covering the engine internals, water pump, transmission, and axels. for another 100,000 miles or 5 years.

How does 2600 bucks sound to do that. I say uh.......that alot of money......yeah but sir you are one lucky son of ***** to get coverage on your car. These things break. ........Uh yeah .......Sir is this your first oldsmobile.....Uh no.......Great you qualify for a loyalty discount!!!! How does a $395 down payment and 200 bucks a months sound for 12 months. a total of $2200.00 ? UH.....that seems rich...do i get to review the contract or any further iinfo.........No sir not now we will send your package in 2 weeks and then you can decide to keep it or get a refund of your deposit of $395.00 will that be visa or mastercard.
Uhhhhh well thats too much money thats a car payment, im not going to make a quick decision on that. Alright sir let me get you to a finance guy or ill see what I can do........Sir how about $395 and 100 bucks a month for 18 months....... Uhhhhh well ok Ill check it out, here is my number and no you cant have my mothers maiden name.......how about the elementry school i went to. The contract they show on the website isnt what they offered me. They offered me a cap of $5000.00 $3k on the motor and $2k bucks on the transmission.

So for 2200 bucks 400 bucks now and 100 bucks a month for the rest....whatever intrest on your card if you dont pay it every month. So they wanted me to spend 2200 bucks min for $3800 bucks of insurance.

Not for me so I call right away today after seeing some realy bad stories about trying to get these people to pay.Just isnt worth to frustration or lawsuits of which all of these extended warranty companies have been sued or have lawsuits on them pending.
So I call and get the MOST SHAMELESS marketing retention mind bending and attempted brain washing I have ever experienced. After 45 minutes of asking for a superviser and threats to the BBB the sickest woman I have ever had to speak to finally shut up. Finally told me my crap was cancelled and stopped trying to change my mind. The sad thing is you cant reach these retention people again to mess with them because you have to give them your info and password again. There is a number the FREAK gave me for another customer service. Im temped to call that number after my credit card gets the money back and ream them.

I dont know how these people can look at themselves in the mirror. They are lawsuit city, all of them.

Stay away from National dealers warranty Sick and shadey, full of shame company. You should all commit suicide!!!!

BTW AAA motor club sells these ext warrantys but not at my 140k miles.

Good choice on your part (to dump the warranty), glad you finally got them to refund your deposit. Most of these coverages aren't worth the paper they're written on, and if they are so dishonest that they don't let you see the contract before you pay?! RUN RUN RUN

I looked at the AAA warranty recently & they quoted $2308 yearly
with no deductable & $2183 yearly with a $100 deductable for the best coverage. The cheapest was $1979 & $1879 with a $100 deductable.......not worth it.

Yearly? thats hilarious, I expect better from AAA. What really sucks is that extended warrantys like this could work and be reasonable with the right company selling it and not just gready, and acting like the mafia.

Well 2200 bucks for a five year and 100000 mile policy might sound like a deal but your buying only 2800 bucks and a big pain in the neck dealing with these mafia style shams it might sound like a deal at first but its not worth for me.

Geez.... I got a letter in the mail a couple of months ago about buying a warranty threw Eagle Warranty Corp.

I called them and asked them out of curiosity how much a warranty was for my car. The guy didn't ask me my mileage and quote some gosh awful price. I asked if he needed my mileage and he said yeah, so I told him. He about choked on whatever he was munching on the whole time. I then got put put on hold to talk to a supervisior about a "special" warranty. Long story short, I have found those aftermarket warranty companies are a joke.

I remember hearing that thing on the radio a few days ago. It was when I was pulling out of my driveway. I was like, wow, that is great. Then I thought, if it wasn't a scam... I been around the block a few times!

Not sure which warranty I had, but it worked. Bought it on my 1999 Chrysler 300M with 96k miles. Added it at the dealer (whom I trusted, family friend) for what seemed like low dollars. 2000 miles later, the Chrysler tranny does what they do and failed. $100 deductible later, rebuilt tranny.

May not work in all cases, but in my case, it saved me a ton.

If the dealer sell the warranties, they are generally a little more reputable. After all the dealer's reputation is on the line. I bought my Wynn's Extended Warranty through the dealer at the time I purchase my Aurora too. It was around $1700 I think for 4 years / 48,000 miles. It will be expired in a few months. But I already got more than my money out of it, for a new A/C system, valve cover gaskets, and power antenna this past summer.

EDIT - I mean, the fact that they don't physically inspect your car is a sign of nothing good. I mean, i would expect that and at least a credit check too, I know it's too much, but it would make it sound more real then just a phone call, which by the way "need to make the phone call within 48 hours to take advantage of this offer". pft.

Consumer Reports (April 2008) says don't waste your money on extended warranties. They are usually a poor deal. The warranty usually costs more than the repairs.

I have had pretty good luck with them...they paid seveal times what I bought them for on an Oldsmobile, An Audi and a Mercedes that I woned...however I owned a Mazda 929 that never brok in 80K miles of driving...so that was 100% warranty company profit
But I made sure I bought them from reputable warranty companies. I think that is key

One thing to watch is that I noticed in the last 10 years many of them have clauses in them that says the warranty will never pay out more than the wholesale value of the car as a cumulative total....so if you have a major engine issue and you have ahad a few claims before you are more than likeup up a creek anyway..unless you have a car that is very valuable market wise

That's how I felt after reading this thread.

That's why you should always go with a Factory Warranty, like GMPP or such.
