Well, I closed my trunk while the gas cap was resting up in the sill near the rear window. (The teather had come loose and I forgot I put it there) Anyway, it misaligned the trunk hinge so that the trunk lid rides above body about 1/8 - 1/4" on that side. Before disassembling the hinge to realign it, I noticed a threaded bolt connecting the two halves of the hinge. Is this an adjustment bolt? I thought I'd ask before causing more harm than good.

I was hoping for a somewhat more comprehensive reply.

I think so, though I tried to adjust it but didn't budge, just rounded the hex off. Try extending out the bump stop on the opposite end to lever back the hinge.

You can adjust the black bump stops (in and out) at the end of the trunk too like I said. Dunno the extent of what it will do, but I used that to get the fit on mine better.

lol, i adjusted that bolt and it worked. now my trunk is flush. wow, amazing. it was clockwise to raise it and counter to lower it. i went too high and had to bring it down.

After hearing the success stories, I gave mine another shot. After a few good cranks with the vise-grips, mine's as good as new I dunno why that thing wouldn't turn for me before though. Hey... who cares, it's fixed now and looks much better. Thanks ;D
