Thanks to ottoracefan, these are his wheels from his 2001, and time permitting i think they will be on my car by the end of April. Tires I'm putting on are 235/55/17 Perilli P-Zero Nero's The bottom wheel pic is when it wasn't cleaned all the way yet. I'll update the thread after they are on :-)

AWESOME! Those 2nd-gen chromies look great on Classics, that will be a very nice upgrade.

I thought long and hard about those before settling on the SSEi rims. I dont know what color your Aurora is, but here is what those look like on a black Classic. FYI this is another Classic that has the Corsa system. IIRC only this car and TaylorD had Corsa on their Classic Aurora. I had to post those as you tease us with no car pics of your own...for shame! ;D What are you doing with the stock chromes?

Stock Chromes... I will take some pics of the evil looking things after I get these on lol. They most likely just need valve stems/new bead sealant all the way around but they are getting so corroded that chunks of chrome are coming off the face of the wheel, and they lose 1-3lbs everyday(worse in the rain). I'd rather not go thru getting valve stems every 2-3 months, so I picked up these. This summer hopefully I will take the stock 16"'s and maybe take all the chrome off and paint them with a high-temp silver to look like the stock alloys, to use them next winter.
What is everyones secret to keeping the rust spots(steel wool to take the rust off... But then you lose the chrome in that spot and it just gets bigger) from forming in the first place? Or is it just the Snowbelt salt?
THANK YOU for finding a picture... I've been looking for some classics w/ second gen wheels for like 2 weeks lol. It looks like he may have 235/50 rubber tho(assuming it's 235), it looks a bit short in the first pic but not in the second.(edit: The rubber, not the car)
By the way, I love the SSEI rims you have JimW and would take them anyday, but I couldn't pass these up for the price :-)

That black Aurora - wasn't that on the top of this forum page for like, years? I thought it looked fantastic. I think it was a shot from behind.
That chrome corrosion seems to affect every Aurora chrome wheel... they really screwed up I guess.. not the same thing with those 17s though?

Pictures! Replaced: Stock 16" chromes w/ Goodyear Integrity's. Tires I put on are Pirelli P-Zero Neros.... 235/55/17 So Far the Handling is like night and day. I credit 1/2 to the bigger wheel size and half to the upgrade over the worst tires ever(the Goodyear Integrity's). Road noise is a bit less, and expansion gaps in the road don't make the car shake anymore. Pics taken w/ Verizon LG VX8300

Hey Jim, glad to see you kept some of those pictures of Greg's car! Him and Taylor also had the 80mm TB's from RSM. He still has that black classic, though the chrome is peeling off the wheels. He bought an eBay set that was chromed aftermarket. The car looks bad with those 17" chromes and the Corsa tips. I'd love to see it (and hear it) in person some day. All my pictures were hosted on some site that now seems to no longer host images, so they're all gone. aaaaaroraaa, good choice. I think the 2nd gen wheels look very sharp on the classic. StickKing1 also has them on his car:

Bob, I have all those pics still, I'll email you a zip file of all my Aurora pics (outside of whats been posted on ACNA) once I get my desktop up and running again.
Otherwise, ya! the 17" look great!! It surely makes a world of difference. To be honest I hope that chrome peel doesnt happen to my SSEi rims. However after 7 years, of these rims being around, I havent heard of em being damaged like that (based on whats not be said at BC.com)
