I got two new tires put on the other day and there 235 70 16 and they look too big or atleast make the 235 60 16s on the front look small. Since i had them put on the traction control has been coming on out of no where like when im coasting @ 50kmph . I was just wondering if these bigger tires on the rear are to blame and if they could lead to any problems in the near future???

The larger diameter of the 70s is what causing the traction control to go on & off. That system & the ABS were calibrated for 60 series tires & not 70 series.

The size of 70 or 60 makes NO difference. It is the fact that the front wheels(the 60 series still on them he said), are turning at a faster rate than the back ones are turning, thus the car thinks that the front wheels(the drive wheels) are slipping when accelerating or braking.
if you had 70 series all around it wouldn't matter

The next place you ought to be driving is back to the tire shop that put the wrong size tires on. Those 70's probably make the car sit up too high in the back also.

If you go too far off standard overall height it will set off the TC sensors no matter if the tires are matched or not. However you're right in that mismatched tires would be the worst case scenario. Try this sight to proper judge the correct height and to see if your tire size is too far off standard. www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp
