My 2nd Gen came with Goodyear RS Eagles. The tire was great for handling but not good at all on wet pavement. The Goodyear tires wore well - 65K miles.
One trait with the Aurora which I like is the low maintenance cost and schedule. I believe tire wear is not just related to the Tire but also how well the car was designed for balance and handling to minimize tire wear.
After 65K I replaced the Goodyears with Firestones Affinity LH30s with Uni-T Polymers. I now Firestone got beaten down years ago for the SUV crisis. These Affinities LH30 are NOT the same Affinities which come OEM with some cars. The OEMs are not LH30s.
I have had 3 sets of these tires for other cars I have owned. I truly think they are a great valve. Although the tire is not marketed as a performance tire it has a speed rating of H. An H rating is a Higher rating than a S or T rating. This tire is excellent on wet pavement because of the Uni-T polymers. The tire rides very quietly and rides well. Cost is not high, around $70 per tire on sale. A good all around tire. Consumer reports had rated the predecessor of this tire as best in it's class.

Cool. Another good all-around tire in 3.5L sizes is the Michelin HydroEdge. Long life and good traction in all conditions. They are very quiet also. I don't think you can get them in an H-rating though. And they don't come in 235/55-17 size.
