I just installed these so I'll give an initial report. As reported in another thread I bought these at Sears for $82.99 each, plus mounting/balance and road hazard. Falcon is Sumitomo's high performance division and the ZE 512 is about the tamest tire they offer, it's a 235/60/16 H rated Ultra High Performance All Season model. I did get to preview them on my GF's car, so I had an idea of what I was buying.
They have been truly awesome from the git go. Smooth and secure at all speeds, not at all harsh yet have all the handling one could ask for from an all season tire. The Classic isn't a race car so I haven't autocrossed it, but in spirited driving I can't get them to break loose under any condition. Braking is excellent and I haven't heard a squeak from them yet. Highway noise is fairly good for a performance all season, not at all intrusive, but if quiet is your only consideration, you could do better with lower performance models.
I finally got to try out the wet handling with the tropical storm going through this past weekend. Gosh they're even better in the wet. I got so I was looking for pooling water anywhere on the road so I could race through it. I could not induce hydroplaning no matter how hard I tried. I did get them to break loose momentarily goosing it from a dead stop while facing up an incline, but they grabbed right away.
So I guess you could say I liked them. Of course I'll have to see how they wear, but at the price I'd be happy to replace them in shorter intervals than a higher priced tire. Winter handling evaluations will have to wait for about 6-7 months (yeah!).
