I have a '98, 120,000 miles w/ the Autobahn pkg. I recently put 17" wheels on w/ 235-50 Falken tires. When going over mid to large size holes, changes in pavement levels, etc. the car will kind of skip over them similar to a pickup truck's back end jumping over a washboard surface. I've checked air pressure and the suspension components seem to be working o.k.,(although the car does have 120,00 miles on it). Any ideas anyone may would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

New shocks in the rear and struts in the front. Try going to 40psi on them all the way around, see if that makes a difference(what psi are you currently running?). New swaybar links/bushings all the way around(cheapest first step). new tie rod ends...

Has this difference in suspension performance definitely come *only* after the new wheels/tires were put on? Or does it seem reasonable that you have parts wearing out (most likely ones mentioned above)? The beefier OEM tires were likely soaking up a lot of the impact that you are now feeling.

Replacing the rear air shocks made all the difference in the world on my car. I picked up a set for about $50.00 and installed them in about an hour. Worth every penny IMHO.

Are the rims you have on the car new (ie the 17's?) one could be bent, leading to all sorts of terrible uncomfortable bumping and rattling issues.
