My car does not have the sensors that tell the car if the tire pressure is actually low, so I get the message quite often even when they are not low. A few months back when I was getting a tune up they looked at it and said they were missing. Anybody know where to buy new sensors or a way to disable the system, the error message is getting quite annoying.

A dealer would the best place to get the sensors.

There are no sensors. The car uses rotational speeds of each wheel from the ABS sensor to determine if one is out of spec.
Inflate the tires properly, reset the system, and see if that fixes it.

If it says it is low, you must reset it actively. Just hold down the reset button until it says TIRE PRESSURE NORMAL.
Stupid pressure sensing system, really. Smart idea, but stupid in application.

Oh, and change where you go to get your "tune up" - you'll find that the majority of people don't know ANYTHING about your car... quite frustrating.

If you don't mind, I think I might add to this: My recollection is that you need to scan through the DIC readings until you find the Tire Pressure Low message. That is the place you need to reset it, otherwise it will just pop up evertime you start the car.

Thanks for the input. Yeah the shop who told me this I only took my car there once. I have a normal mechanic but he isn't the cheapest around. Not the most expensive but hes a little pricey but well worth it because he does real good work. I was running short on money at the time so I had to take it to this shop which I was not impressed with at all. This same shop tried telling me I needed a new feeder neck for my gas tank, I sanded it down and get it reset and problem was fixed.
I'll try the resetting of the tire pressure tomorrow, hopefully it works. Say it doesn't work though, what could it possibly be?

If you have never reset the tire pressure before, then that is the cause of the problem. Once it registers "TIRE PRESSURE LOW" it seems to be stuck there until you reset it. Even if it measures even diameter between all tires later, it'll still be stuck saying it's low until you reset it..

Yeah, I got the problem fixed. I was just hitting reset when it came up. I hadn't went to the message afterwards. Went through the DIC until it showed up and reset and problem was solved. Thanks for the help.
