I have a 2003 with the 4.0 with the original Michelin tires and there horrible in the snow/ice.... Looking to replace these with a good winter/all season tire. This car even with t/c and stability control is horrible in winter... Any suggestions on a tire that is good in the snow?

I've had great results with my Kumho KW11's for the last 2 seasons. Best bang for the premium buck is Nokian Tires. To be honest, any proper winter tire with an aggressive studded tread and plenty of sipes will make a for a good winter tire.
Get rid of the garbage MXV4+ tires, in any condition they're just an awful awful tire.

I haven't tried them, but the Goodyear Assurance TripleTred looks like a good all-season tire with good snow handling. Since you said winter/all-season I assume you will use them year-round? If not, get a snow tire.

I just put on a set of Goodyear Eagle GT-HR tires and I love them. I was able to pick them up for about $100.00 per tired.

I have michelin hydroedge on my aurora and they are probably the best set of tires ever.

I placed a set of Goodyear Eagle Reponse Edge and am very thrilled with their performance, albeit not in snow. They replaced my MXV4s which were far from ideal. I appreciate the Eagle's dry and wet pavement traction - and they are much quieter.
Tirerack.com has a great means of comparing tires.

I had the Hydro Edge on my Maxima and I have to say they were the best tires that I ever purchased . I had purchased Goodyear Eagles for my other Nissan and they didnt seem to have the same qualities as the Michelins.

I left my MXV4's on last winter, and I was very disappointed. This year, I did my research and ended up going with a set of BF Goodrich Traction T/A's. So far, I'm very pleased with the traction they offer. I've been driving on them since late October, and they've only worn 1/32 on the fronts and no wear on the back. I would have to expect decent treadlife. The raised black lettering looks cool, and the tread itself has an aggressive appearance. I ordered them from samsclub.com (free delivery to local store), and was able to get a better price than tirerack.com was offering.

Man, some real hate for the MXV4+'s... How many of you had them from new though? They were a good tire when new, but the bad-weather traction falls off before the tread is overly worn. I thought they were decent tires, though I did not buy them again.

If anyone was crazy enough to buy them new, they'd probably be decent for a spell. Car companies love throwin those Energys on their cars but once the second and third set of tires start coming around Michelin's are so expensive I haven't noticed anyone picking them up.
Who has $200+ to spend per tire to put on a mid size sedan when there are so many other cost effective options?
To be totally fair, a review of the Energy tires would be better after 1 year or so...not 5+
