Well the ol' girl needed an oil change the other day, so while browsing down the wally world isle I stopped to see what they had for oil prices. They had 5-qt jugs of 10W-30 Penzoil high-mileage synthetic blend for 12.88 for the 5-qt jug, and 3.27/qt for the additional requirements. 24 and change after tax.
I've bout about 400 miles on it since i changed it (last thursday) and so far it's great! It seems to be burning much less than it did, full throttle runs no longer smell like someone is dumping oil onto the headers. Also, the rear main leak seems to have somewhat slowed, though that may just be my mind wanting to believe it. The burning i'm positive of though. I'll check the level soon, i used to have to add 3-4 quarts between changes, i'm hoping to push that down.

Before my engine swap (127K miles), I would put maybe a quart in between oil changes. We had them put new gaskets everywhere...no more leaks...yay! Glad it is looking good for you and hope it continues!

Haha noooo kay, i change my oil every 3-3500. She just loses a lot. Keep in mind though my car is running quite a bit. I do about 26k per year. That's 2100 and change per month on average. Some of those were 500 mile weekends. One month i hit almost 5k. Because of the combo of 182k miles, well worn valve seals, and the leaky rear main (and possibly VC gaskets...) it really uses/loses a lot of oil. But i change it religiously and keep a very close eye on it.
