Has anybody used these on your aurora. Do they work better than non drilled rotors, what are the benefits/weaknesses? and whats too much to pay for em

I have had cross-drilled rotors in a vehicle before (04 GTO) and you gotta be careful how they are designed. Most of the rotors are see on ebay just have holes drilled. In order to reduce stress cracks the holes/slots have to be chamfered to reduce heat build up that can cause cracks. I believe even the brembo cross-drilled rotors that we can get from tirerack don't have a warranty.
One of the best cross-drilled rotors are the DBA (disc brake australia) ... too bad they don't make anything for the Aurora.
I think you are better of doing the aurorabrain brake upgrade. I have seen the ones he has on his vehicle and they look massive even with his 17" Lucerne rims.

I put on a set of D/S in the winter. They work just fine, but can be a little noisy under braking as the slots pass under the calipers. They seem to work much better in the rain - had the 2 second delay in the rain. Plenty of brake now in just about every circumstance.
For the same money, you can do the brain Lucerne upgrade - already plenty of junkyards selling the rotors and calipers cheap.

Love my RaceConcepts drilled/slotted rotors! Check eBay for current prices. They were a great upgrade (with a nice set of Hawk ceramic pads) to the factory brakes. At least a few of us here have that setup, but it came along before the Lucerne upgrade so that's certainly worth checking out also.

Yes do the Aurorabrain upgrade, you will be glad you did. I installed mine yesterday and they are awesome. And I did it for under $150.

The R1 Brakeconcept drilled rotors are OK so far, (6 weeks) no rust, just a tiny "buzz" in the pedal when i brake hard, and they make a moaning(?) sound when I brake in reverse. I have no idea if it's related to the drilled rotor, and I don't care. They brake better than the last ones! (sorry, no photo yet. Imageshack is down for now )

Drilled rotor in place. Out of the box, front and rear.
