i saw something like this on ebay last week for 200 bucks. but do they actually work is my question. supposedly on the one i saw you hook it up between the ignition and the car brain. it receives the original signals from the brain, ignores them and sends more performance tuned signal to the engine. the "big" deal was it did not rewrite the brains software which can be seen by dealerships sorta like cookies in cache and void warranty.

It talks OBD-II. It's just a pretty scan tool. Neat idea though, I wonder how clean the wiring is?

Every high school auto shop in America is going to have kids trying to retrofit one of these into late 90's GM cars. I think its cool, though it seems to lack any real polish in terms of looks.

Yeah, I think the Cobalt SS has some kind of launch mode. It also has no-lift shifts. They really seem like a cool car.

If I could straight-up trade my Aurora for a turbocharged Cobalt SS, I'd do it in the blink of an eye.

I wouldn't. The cobalt is made with suspension problems out the ying yang its driven by a cavalier suspension with too much power for it to support it. There is no leg room in the car, its small. If you hit something you might as well be driving a smart car (ok I think I might of went a tad too far on that comparison but you get the idea) its really not that much cheaper on gas for city driving as the turbo kicks in just as your shifting (same with their SC models) so it really defeats the purpose of the 4 banger good on gas idea
overall its a cavalier with a new engine and body design, if you really really really look hard at one you can tell it has the cavalier treates look wise.

It has a manual transmission, 260hp, 260 lb-ft across like a 4,000 rpm range. 22/30mpg. Brembo brakes. 0.9g's lateral grip. And it weighs 800 lbs less than an Aurora. Yeah it looks dorky. I can't see the exterior of any of my cars from the driver's seat.
I'm not knocking the Aurora. More I'm realizing I don't care as much about luxury and comfort as about a fast and fun car. If I were to buy something right now, I'd go with the faster, smaller, and more fuel efficient car. I don't care if the back seat is puny, etc. Or if I wanted the same room, I'd get something like the Regal GS for a lot less coin (or if only they made a S/C 3800 Intrigue) and upgrade it with a few cheap mods.
I enjoy the Aurora a lot. I just think I'd enjoy a faster car even more. But I love the sound the Aurora makes, and how quiet it is when I let off it. I even love tossing it into turns as it really sticks well with the new tires, and doesn't roll as much as you'd expect.

that's more like it 40! cuz you DO care about what OTHER people think about your car from the drivers seat lol. probably why you still drive that ROARA. no, but i do agree, and have given thought to a 3800 Spercharged Intrigue or Alero even, i've heard it done in some Grand Am's, and both of those engine bays are big enough i believe. oh why didn't Olds release the SV series? stupid GM decision. anyway, i dunno, something i dream about i guess. almost got a Regal GS tho. i want a fast car too!

One good feature there.....you can see the spark timing at any time & whether or not you're getting any spark retard due to regular instead of premium.
