Ok just bought 10 quarts of royal purple and 2 mobile oil filters today for about 60.00 dollars not too bad considering it cost 8.00 for just one quart. Now has anyone heard anything about this oil or used it. I did do some reasearch on the web and its supposed to be pretty good even better then mobil 1 in several videos that I watched: What do you all think? www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqvhRi7-iMA

I think at $6 a quart, that's pretty good. I'm sure it's good oil. "better" is sort of a loaded term. I'm sure an engine could run its whole life on Mobil 1, and probably on a quality dino oil. So what does "better" really do for you? Personally I wouldn't pay the premium for Royal Purple ordinarily, I'll stick with M1, though it is actually climbing to the $6 a quart range too...

^^ M1 Extended Performance is well over $6/quart most places. That $60 promo really is an excellent deal for any synthetic, considering it includes two M1 oil filters ($5-6 each normally) also.

Ok i looked at my oil life monitor today and it was at 53% at this point i would have had to add about 1 and a half quarts but when i checked the oil again this afternoon not a bit low at all i drove it to a very level place and checked it again but still same level. I dont know what is stopping the oil burning but since switching to royal purple i have had no oil loss to date.

I had the same experience when I switched to full synthetic... oil drips stopped. My leaks were very small and I never had to add oil, but it was still a nice change to stop seeing the oil spots on my garage floor.

M1 filters are $10 +/- here. I just did an oil change, dumped the 22k mile Amsoil for Rotella T 5w-40. We'll see how that works out.
Funny thing was that the Amsoil at 22k was not nearly as black as the 5k M1 stuff that came out in the previous change.

I put synthetic oil in my car and after 3 changes of it I use to lose quite a bit of oil (needed to add at least 1.5 L) it now doesn't lose any

I see on those automotive shows on SPIKE TV where they use Royal Purple. Seems like it's pretty good stuff.

is it ok to switch over to full synthetic even if it's got higher miles on it? should be better for it right?

is it ok to switch over to full synthetic even if it's got higher miles on it? should be better for it right? Synthetic oil is always better then conventional oil. Your engine will stay cleaner longer if you start with synthetic earlier, but that doesn't mean it's bad for a high-mileage engine. When you first switch, keep the oil change interval at its usual 3000-5000 miles or whenever the DIC tells you to change. After that, you can safely increase the number of miles you go between changes. I don't know if Royal Purple advertises any intervals, but the Mobil1 Extended Performance I use is rated at 15,000 miles / 1 year (whichever comes first).

Royal Purple contains a proprietary lubricant that bonds to the metal. Think "water wetter" for oil.
I was present for Royal Purple's thermal testing and while the reduction in temperatures was negligible, their oil was good for about 5-7hp on a stock 350 and 2-3hp on a V-Twin.
But it was designed as a RACING oil and not really for long intervals of use. You CAN use it in your daily driver, but do be diligent about changing the oil at frequent intervals. (Don't go by the oil life indicator in the computer, which computes to about 5-6K miles for changes.)
Sorry if I'm a tad late to this party, just thought I'd add my .02
