If your 2nd gen was totalled out, how much did you get. Was it way more than you paid for it as the typical price of 4-5k for one with 100k miles. Interested in knowing what I would get if mine gets busted.

Was it way more than you paid for it If it was, the insurance company is not doing their job. Getting "way more" than it's worth is pretty rare. Getting a lowball offer from an insurance company is more common, unfortunately. But be aware that you DO have some input on what the car is worth. When my '98 Bonneville was totaled in '03, insurance offered me a pretty low number that would not get me a very nice replacement car. I got busy doing local research, and faxed them 10 pages of similar cars and showed how much higher they were selling for. Insurance upped their offer by $1000 and I took it. A little effort resulted in a much nicer payout. Then I bought my Aurora.
