What a great piece of machinery. I wish some of the Aurora's had the glass tops as an option.

Wow, I think I'm in love! If there was one car in the world I could have that would be it. The different bumper makes it look even more timeless and the stock guidestar system looks awesome. I also like ice blue gauge lights, and did anyone else notice the led brake light at the top of the rear windshield? That car really should have made it to production.
Great pics rzb1992!

The family of GM engines are referred to as Premium V engines. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Premium_V_engineNorthstar only refers to LD8, L37, LH2, and the LC3. The Aurora V8, is just that, Aurora V8 or L47. The "ShortStar" is only a nickname, GM doesn't officially recognize the name, just LX5. There is not doubt an Aurora V8 is basically just a smaller bored Northstar, however it is incorrect to call an Aurora V8 a Northstar. Sort like every toad is a frog, but every frog is not a toad, if you catch my drift.

Clearly the Engine says "Aurora V8" Shawn (95mushroom) explains it.

I'm glad this thread got bumped, I'm not sure how I missed it the first time.
That's a gorgeous car. In addition to all the obvious neat things, the center caps seem to be the inspiration for the 2nd gen 16" centers. And those fixed calipers with "Oldsmobile" on them are pretty cool.
It's too bad it won't do much other than get looked at. It may not even have a VIN number, you'd probably never be able to register it.

Since it is a four door sedan, I doubt anyone would notice or care that its not street legal if you took it for a spin around town. ;D Granted there was some kind of legitimate looking license on the bumper. I know I wouldn't be able to stand not driving that work of art if I owned it.

Amazing! Pretty obvious why it didnt make it past prototyping but it sure would have made a sweet limited edition. I wonder how it compares in size to the new GM 'Ultraview' pano roof.
