I'm debating on tinting the aurora. I was wondering if anybody had a pic of a white classic with tint so know what it looks like.
thanks -josh

Here's my Dark Red Metallic 96' with 20% tint. I know it's not white, but maybe it'll help. The tint is a little bit darker than you see here, I had the sunroof divider open so it let a little more light in. Before: After:

I got my 20% tint done for $139 total. Here's a picture of my Windshield Banner, Lance. I like the solid letters a lot better. Got it on eBay for like $17 bucks. Its a little short, I specified the length and height so it's my fault there. Need to get a bigger one eventually.

Good looking rims you got there Collins. Sounds like a pretty wide range of pricing on the tinting. Need to resize that pic Nevermind!

Yea I only paid $130 to have all my windows and the windshield done. Plus it was mobile tinting so he did it in my garage.

^^I had to go to a shop to get mine done, but yeah $400 is a little steep even for a Jeep. My dad got his H2 done for $170... Good looking rims you got there Collins. Thanks! I wish they were 18 inchers instead of 16's but they're definitely not bad.

i was quoted $100 out here at a shop by me, New York is funny about window tint though..... the installer has to put this sticker between the tint and the window verifying that it is installed to legal specs.....blah blah blah.... just seems like a big waste of time. I'd probably only go with like a 30% tint anyways, i drove my friends car and he has limo tint..... yeah the windows are useless now

After doing 20% all the way around, I would have done it differently
5% or 10% (Dunno if that's available)in the front 2 windows and 20% around the back windows/rear windshield
Because of the sunroof and the front windshield letting in so much light it is very transparent during the day

^^ The sunroof probably makes more of a difference there. I have 20% on all the rear windows of my Explorer (work vehicle, yes my employer paid to put on tint! ) and it is nearly impossible to see in. Even with windshield sunlight. I mean if someone is in the backseat moving around you can see a silhouette, but otherwise it's quite black. For driver visibility purposes I don't think I'd want it any darker, espcially driving at night.

having 5 percent on all the back windows I can attest to visibility....simply because there is none! ;D
I can see headlights from cars at night, but to back out of the driveway on to my busy street is a chore. It does keep the car noticeably cooler though.

I don't have any gripes against my 20% all around. It is bright when you open the sunroof, I always open it when I pass the 5-oh. ;D
As long as you keep the sunroof closed I've found it does just fine.

the aurora that aura1 posted would be mine.. it has 5% all the way around an evn about an 1/8 of the way down the front windsheild.. its costed me $163 including taxes 6 years ago and let me say it really sets the car off.. goes great with the white and it is super dark at nite but it still looks insane

^^Keep in mind when looking at tint that 5% is hella illegal... 20% is illegal too but you won't get pulled over for it. It's a lot less obvious than rolling around with blacked out windows in bright sunlight.
I agree 5% looks sick, but I wouldn't put it on mine just for the sole reason that there's a lot greater chance that you'll have to have it taken off.

kody...how the hell did you manage to tint 6 years ago...you would have still been in diapers!!!
its not illegal in illinois to have 5 percent, it just cant be on the front windows (which I found out)
south carolina has no tint laws at all....im thinking about retinting

I am bummed IL doesn't allow tint on the front side windows. All other windows are game but I think it would look odd to have any level of tint except on the front side windows. Anyone in IL tint their Aurora even the front sides, say at 20%? Any trubs from the LEOs? Here is a link to the leago tint levels for each state in the US www.tintlaws.com/

I am picking my car up on Monday from the dealer. I was worried about what percentage of tint to use etc but my dealer says that is all after market tint. He said they only use one type of tint & they take all the door panels off etc to put it on the right way. It is costing $300. I will post some pics when I get it back. Mine is a 2nd gen that is Pearl White.
