Last summer I took the family to Peoria to see family. We debated on driving our 99 Tahoe but with gas at almost $4 a gallon then we chose the Aurora. We drove mainly at night and had no troubles. I drive for a living, cargo vans up to 26' box trucks and after the trip I wish I could just drive my Aurora at work! The ride was so smooth the kids, who were 3 and 4 at the time, slept the whole way. Even through stops for gas. I am so glad we took the Aurora. I think I'll take it up to the mountains later this month.

Hey! I grew up in Bartonville. It is a suburb of the Peoria/Pekin area. And I have also been to Colorado Springs. Did you see a '97 silver teal Aurora there a few years ago? I was just passing by.

Ah, yeah, that looks like an expensive repair I agree, love the Aurora on road trips. I have people pass out on me all the time when driving on road trips. I don't mind. I always told people if I fall asleep on a road trip(lol not driving of course), it's because I trust your driving skills.

When we went to the meet in Aurora this last weekend my friend Rachel was with me. She slept all the way from Des Moines to Iowa City (~2 hours)

Hey Randy, I use to spend time in Bartonville (the restaurant just as you come in had great food), it has one wicked hill. Lived in Peoria and Pekin as a kid. Pretty good place to grow up. Did you go to Limestone?

That's cool! You can't forget that hill. The school was at the bottom and they have that giant wall in front of it. I didn't go to Limestone, but most of my friends did.We moved to Missouri when I was starting the 8th grade. I went to Hollis grade school in Tuscarora hills before that. That is also where I lived, Tuscarora was a small subdivision a couple miles from Bartonville. I did spend a lot of time in Pekin, my friends Grandpa lived there and we would go and mess around in Pekin. His Grandpa was editor of the Journal Star. And if you know any Thurmans around that area I am probably related to them. I still have a lot of family there.
What year did you graduate?

my grandpa also lived in Peoria for some years. pretty clean city. Maybe then. There are definitely some areas you DON'T want to go now, but I guess every place is like that. Peoria does have a great "skyline" appeal from the interstate, and I've always like river cities (St. Louis is another fave) that have big bridges leading in and out.

I went to a lot of schools in Pekin and Peoria but I graduated from - drum roll please - Aurora, Illinois ;D in 1978

I went to a lot of schools in Pekin and Peoria but I graduated from - drum roll please - Aurora, Illinois ;D in 1978 Alright! Graduated from Aurora! You can't beat that. And you may have given your age away, but we still don't know what gender you are.

Kay and Rocket (not to mention our founder, Amanda) have proven that its possible for Ladies to like the Aurora as much as we do so that can't be the reason! ;D

I have no idea why he says guy, I would of thought girl as to the questions asked (normally asked by women just trying to learn things about the car itself but aren't afraid to attack the jobs either) but who knows could be a guy too
