Hello guys,
I haven't visited this forum in a while ... been extremely busy with work and family. I've been doing detailing as a 2nd job. Glad to see new people join all the time ...
I have used M-1 10w-30 since I purchased my aurora without any issues. I tried their 0w-30 formula and the northstar started getting really noisy on the top-end.
A lot of people swear by this German Castrol oil that acts more like a sae 40 than a 30. Has anyone here used it? Any issues with top-end noise (ticking, etc.).
Thanks in advance, Gianni

I think that 0W-30 is intended for use only in areas where it gets VERY cold.....as in Arctic regions.

10W 30 seems to be a good oil to use.

I only use what is recommended by the owners manual as it was designed for that kind of oil not a mix of other stuff

I think that 0W-30 is intended for use only in areas where it gets VERY cold.....as in Arctic regions. Ditto. It would have to be really cold (-20 degrees) and the Owners manual for my 1999, page 6-13, suggests 5W-30 synthetic OR 0W-30 oil.

Never heard of the stuff. I just use 10W-30 synthetic. The carquest kind, it's cheap and made by Valvoline.
