Well all, I took the 9 dollar plunge and seafoamed the grand am. And it was WELL worth the 9 dollars. The 3100's and 3400's are notorious for lifter noise during cold starts. Well mine had been doing it for about a month and a half. I bought two bottles of sea foam, I fed 3/4 of one into the PCV vacuum line, added half to the crank case, and with the other half I added it to the gas tank before I filled up. I also just went through and put a new PCV valve on, MAFS and cleaned the throttle body.So after introducing it to the cylinders I shut the car off and let it sit for 30 minuts. In that 30 minutes I also added the sea foam to the crank case and and added the other half to less than 1/8 tank of gas. After trying to start it for what seemed like forever it finally got going, spitted and sputtered horribly, took about 30 seconds to get up to 3.5k rpms. I had my neighbor keep it right at 3500 rpms and I watched as my entire back yard became a cloud of white smoke. The smoke was abbsolutely pouring out of my exhaust, so I told my neighbor to hold it to the floor (which is rev limited to 4k) and I could hear the car start running better, no missing and all that junk.towards the end of the seafoam experience I see alot of blue smoke coming from the exhaust it keeps coming and coming and than the exhaust goes clear. no smoke no nothing. I have him shut the car off, and I check the oil in the crank case and its right at the level it was when I added seafoam. Anyways, I took the car for a spirited run and it drove ok. Got back home, drained the oil and filter and replaced both. Fired the car up and it runs beautiful. Took it for a drive to the gas station, filled up on premium, and now the car purrs like a kitty, very responsive, and doesnt shake at all.
I can not put all the attributed gains just towards seafoam, a new MAFS can greatly improve things also. But the car hasnt ran better. AND no more lifter noise/ piston tap. I'm very pleased and highly recommend it to you aurora owners.

so what you meant to say was it started making noises after the meet aye? all that gran dam gunning just how many 1/2's did you have lol. naw sounds like you done good. it's great stuff. i added a whole can to my ninja once (2 gallon tank) and it was ready to climb walls!

nooo I had lifter noise at the meet. I would just start my car before anyone else would and have it warmed up so it wouldnt be making the noises when y'all started yours. ;D Introducing it to the cylinders via a vacuum line helped more than running it through the tank I imagine.

But it really does no harm, and running it in the oil for such little time is just enough to release alot of crap yet not harm anything. I say go for it

What's with the blue smoke? I didn't get blue smoke when I did mine, but then again, I only used a 3rd thru the pvc

I think the blue smoke was the end of the carbon burning off. maybe a bit of oil on the pistons. But it hasnt done it all since then.

I have heard you should replace the spark plugs after you run seafoam through your engine. Anybody else heard this?

I've heard about changing the oil but not changing the plugs.

Never heard of changing the plugs either - I'd say follow the instructions on the container, which don't mention a plug swap. I did a Seafoam treatment on the Pacifica shortly after buying it, also put a little through my riding lawnmower for good measure. I never did run it through the Aurora but probably would have if I still had it. And zach I don't think premium fuel will do anything for your GA, except lighten your wallet a little more.

At the gas station in NC premium was just as much as regular so I figured why not? ;D I also think there was water in my fuel, the car had been sitting for a while. OH and I had a vaccum leak in the throttle body. all things that tend to restore some lost performance.
