ELM 327 Clone Arrival

Finally got my ELM 327 Clone delivered today. From China to the states in 17 days. Not too bad considering weather in China and Holidays here, I am betting this ELM 327 has more seen more scenary in those 17 days than I have in my entire life.



I just got finished hooking up to the Aurora and downloading some software. I even disconnected the IAT sensor to set a code so I could see for certain it would clear the DTC that sets when it is disconnected. Works perfect. So, I am a happy camper.

I opened it up and even though it is a clone it has a genuine ELM 327 chip. Awesome! I know for sure it is a genuine ELM 327 chip because the scantool.net software will not work with cloned chips.

So, now it is time to get down to the cold start issue after I figure out to set up PIDs to monitor these issues.

Could you give us a quick overview of what this is, exactly? I see the OBDII plugin so I assume its some kind of code monitor or something... I'm still a tad confused. ;D

It is a diagnostic code reader.

So its kinda like car md. So you plug it in before you go somewhere and see if anything is going to go bad and fix it before the problem arises. Pretty neat.

You can read and clear codes as well graph live data, etc.

No, I have not decided against that one just yet. There just has yet to be enough interest in the PCM tuning. That one is a whole different animal, it is for tuning and flashing. This is a diagnostic code reader.
