Has anyone had any experience with Chevron Techron Concentrate Plus? From what I have read it seems to be a good product and I am considering purchasing and testing. Wanted to check around first. I believe many like the techron fuel additives. Whether protecting your new valuable investment, restoring your used car to its original performance, or simply keeping your engine as clean as it can be, Techron Concentrate Plus delivers a number of unsurpassed benefits and one unique benefit – the ability to eliminate faulty fuel gauge readings. * Helps Restore 1. – Fuel efficiency 2. – Operation of broken fuel gauge sensors 3. – Lost power and drivability * Clean 1. – Sulfur corrosion from fuel gauge sensors 2. – Combustion chambers, intake valves, ports, and fuel injectors * Helps Prevent 1. – Engine knocks and pings, spark plug fouling and cold start issues 2. – Harmful sulfur components from attacking sensitive electronic fuel sending units * Protect 1. – Fuel gauge from malfunctioning by coating all metal surfaces of the car's fuel system. Chevron Techron Concentrate PlusAs a Chevron comparison Techron Concentrate Fuel System Cleaner is the most concentrated and will clean combustion chamber deposits. There is approximately 100% more active ingredient in the Techron Concentrate than the Pro-Gard Fuel Injector Cleaner. The active ingredient is Poly Ether Amine with a solvent carrier. Pretty hefty claims.

I did buy a case worth!
The claims certainly are pretty hefty! I haven't noticed much improvement. I do have a wonky gas gauge (doesn't go to empty until I get to the bottom 1/3 of the tank) and so far the techron hasn't helped. Some have claimed it to worsen, I haven't seen any improvements or new related problems.
The engine definitely idles smother after putting in a bottle. They recommend a bottle with every tank and at $13/bottle I think I'll take a pass. I do however slightly skew the mixing proportions and put a few gallons less than the instructions recommend. It's not available to me locally so I use it as a treat for the engine.
It's like any other fuel additive. I can't verify it's usefulness beyond the obvious. I'm sure different people see different results!

I've never cared for techron. I have used it in all of my cars and never saw any improvements whatsoever. My GA's gauge has been bouncing since I bought the car and adding a bottle of that stuff never helped it either.
One product I do whole heartedly endorse would be lucas top cylinder lubricant with fuel injector cleaner. I can buy the big bottle for 11 dollars and that lasts me 4 or 5 tanks. I use it every fill up. In the aurora i saw pretty good results. ran smoother in the morning after a cold start. First time I added the lucas I accidentally put almost 3/4 of the large bottle in the tank. After running it wide open I did notice a hefty amount of black smoke. I know we consider that to be a carbon burn off. It dissipated after 3 or 4 WOT runs. After that incident I noticed the car running smoother over all. My mileage spiked a bit according to DIC. I use all of lucas' products. Their oil stabilizer, and their tranny additive.
In conjunction with running the upper cylinder lubricant, adding the stabilizer will greatly improve viscosity levels. I used it with valvoline synthetic blend in the aurora and noticed cleaner oil with the 3k mile oil change, also seemed to hold together quite well and could have went another 3k easily IMO. I now use it with mobil one in the grand am and before the catastrophic damage done to the car I was thoroughly impressed.
BUT if you are really wanting to do something good for your car, I suggest you seafoam it. I have seafoamed my GA now twice. Couldn't be happier. Adding it to the tank I noticed no big improvements. But to the oil and intake quited the legendary 3400 tick. But couldn't buy me enough time to save the ole gal. I never had the opportunity to run it on the aurora but I have heard nothing but good things from members that have.

Yep I know all about seafoam.
I had just never seen this concentrate. I hope you all meant you have used the concentrate and not the proguard injector cleaner. It's recommended every 3,000 miles not every fill up. Which is why I think you are referring to the proguard injector cleaner. From what I have read in the past couple of days many people swear by this stuff.
I think I will grab enough to treat 20 gallons next time I am near Advance.

i prefer BG 44K, never could tell much difference using techron. but BG 44K really helped with gas mileage, smoother running and throttle response. i use it in all my cars

i have a strong assumption that Lucas Oil Additive caused my engine knock.
it is just too thick, it even bears the name of "engine honey" to some.
after using it my car was insanely quiet, then shortly after i was in a drive through ordering food and against the building i had a strong noise of what appeared to be a noisy/knocky motor.
it was never like that before and it has never fully went away. i used lucas twice and the second time around it seemed to make it more noticeable. now with the correct level of oil usually valvoline syntec or now i switched to max life, the noise is barely there.
those oil additives are NO GOOD for the aurora motor, for what reason i dont know, BUT, GM does state NOT to use any additives with our cars.
the thing is, with all my other cars i always used it, and they were just normal beater type cars, nothing sophisticated like the aurora in engine type, the stuff worked great in basic motors..
in the aurora the oil lucas stuff is NO GOOD.
trust me on that one,
