Here's my prob...I took my car to the dealership, and they ordered the fuel rail. My return line was also leaking. I was advised of this. I was told it would COST me $426.00 to have it done. Well I was unsure of what was in this campaign. So I went to www.nhtsa.gov and looked up the recall. Lo and behold the return line is part of the recall. (mine's a 95)
I call the dealer back and asked why it wasn't covered. He said return lines weren't covered in the recall. I called Olds Customer Service. The lady was helpful and called the dealership herself. Well, the Service Mgr. told her the same thing. I called the dealership back after speaking with Olds. He then told me that the return line has no relationship to the fuel rail. This might sound stupid, but in order to return fuel to the tank it'll have to come out of the fuel rail. Finally, I was fed up. I called NHTSA and told them. They took my complaint and hopefully a resolvement will come about. Meanwhile, I called Olds back, to get the part #'s and they gave them to me. I think this dealership I'm dealing with just doesn't want to do it. What do ya'll think? I'll update on NHTSA's investigation.
