Yeah....I guess wont be doing that anytime soon eh?...there are a lot of electrical components in there, I bet the coil pack got wet...that might be the root of the problems!

Is the service engine soon still on? You should try pulling the spark plug wires off from the coils one at a time and make sure they're dry. You could also put some dielectric grease to help keep water out as well. You shouldn't have anything to worry about with cleaning your engine. Dealers steam clean engines all the time. Most all the connections are water tight. The only thing you need to worry about is the ignition module, coil packs, and the alternator. Other than that you should be fine getting anything else wet.

Are you still having the same problems? Could be alternator and/or coil packs. Granted its had a few days to dry out right? Are you in warm or cold climate? (guess it shouldn't matter since the engine gets hot )

at this point I would just stop by autozone and have them scan it for free. That way we're not just throwing out guesses.

its still missfiring all ouer yhe place and it was washed sun. night. its only 20 deg. here today. a code scan will only show missfire codes no, it shows much more than just misfire codes. It'll tell you anything that is wrong sensor wise. If any monitored sensor senses or has a malfunction there's a code for it and the SES light is tripped. If the SES light is on, then there are codes that can be pulled to tell you exactly what is wrong with the car.

Better make sure the new one is clean so you dont have to rinse it off later.
