I've search the index of my manual trying to locate the type of trans fluid to use in my '98 Aurora. Could you provide assistance? I check the fluid level this AM and to my surprise the level is VERY low. Not sure why??? 100K and to my knowledge, the fluid has never been changed ... Thanks, Tim

Dexron, Dexron, Dexron. Not ATF. I've put Dexron VI in 2 of my cars and they seemed to like it - splurge and spend a few more bucks when you change it and run Dex VI.
If you've got 100,000 on her, change the fluid at your earliest convenience. Make sure they drain the side cover and put new screens on. I had $50 in fluid and another $40 in screens and gasket, so if somebody quotes you $150, don't be surprised.
DO NOT FLUSH - these transmissions sometimes have a VERY bad reaction to being flushed.

Thanks for the advice and help with the fluid. I'm driving to VA from AZ and will have the change upon arrival.

I use valveline dexron from walmart and it's wonderful, and yes don't i repeat don't flush the system. It will Ruin your transmission all together. If you wanna "flush" it the safe way to do it is to open the drain and countinue to pour dexron into it until it is draining pure red fluid.
