When we first pulled out when the light turned green I didn't know he was going to gun it so it took me like a second or two to go WOT, but he still kept pulling away despite the lack of reaction time. We had a second go from about a 45 mph roll to about 90 and pretty much tied with the aurora having about a fender on it .
Pretty funny too considering it was some rich gangster wannabe kid who thought he was the ******* while leaving the campus parking lot with his friend in the passenger side in his mid-late 2000's Infiniti G35x Sedan , bet he was pretty embarrassed to lose and with his buddy in the car (almost a tie) to a 1997 Oldsmobile ;D, and I KNOW he definitely did not think it was packing a V8 under the hood (or even know what type of car it was for that matter), 99% of people I meet are stunned and at first don't even believe me when I say it's a FWD made by GM and has a V8 under the hood (a small displacement 4.0, with 32 Valves and Dual Overhead Cams too boot ).
However even if I would of reacted the same time he did and went WOT when we went from a stop I definitely think he would of won and pulled on me a bit, but from as we know from a roll is the Aurora's friend, because a car's weight from a roll doesn't have nearly as much of significance in a race like it does from a stop or dig! (especially the faster the roll you start at too).
Good race though from a roll, and I believe the G35 sedans are alot more underpowered than the G35 Coupes were (I believe they were what like 260 horsepower? So a 10 horsepower disadvantage but i'm sure the 4.0 n* has the advantage in torque (just checked on that and , actually WOW never mind on that the 2004 sedan has the SAME lbs of torque, both at 260 WOW surprised that the 3.5 managed to pump out the same amount of torque for the sedans and 10 more lbs of torque than our 4.0 V8 with a half a liter less of displacement!), it only weighs about 250 lbs less.
I also saw the 2004 G35 Sedans run a high 14, (I couldn't find a 1/4 mile time for the 2004 G35x (AWD) Sedans, definitely thinking the weight & power loss from the AWD system is going to slice probably .4-.8 tenths off the quarter mile (considering the g35x is 310 more lbs then the RWD G35 and every 100 lbs = -.1 secs off the 1/4 mile, then add the subtraction of the All Wheel Drive System's percentage of power loss before it reaches the wheels); however though, now making sense why he was very quick from the jump but I slightly beat him from a roll, so from what I saw the 2004 Auto G35 Sedan ran around a 14.8, add the AWD and we're probably looking at a low-mid sub 15 sec 1/4 mile time which would make sense considering the Aurora's run a mid-high 15 stock, and this was from a roll where the AWD loses it's advantage and actually becomes a disadvantage more so then a RWD G35 would be from a roll.
