Hey guys I was thinking about doing a muffler delete sometime this week. I just wanted opinions from people who did it. Do you like it? or no. Is it extremely loud or just decently loud. did u notice any power decrease? Thanks everyone I appreciate it.

Here's what mine sounded like I loved it when I had it and almost everyone around here who has done it will tell you the same thing haha I don't think its that loud, I've heard much louder. Didn't notice any change either way as far as power goes. Gas mileage goes down though...because you will want to hear it so much you wont be able to keep your foot off the gas ;D Still debating whether or not I want it on my new one. There are times when I really really miss it haha. Maybe I'll go the electronic cutout route like Collins

A lot of us did muffler deletes.
I did it on mine - Personally? I'd do it again a hundred times if I had the chance. Make sure they put the tips far enough out the back to where you won't get drone!
Also - no difference in power... just a nice, rumbly sound. Especially on WOT..

Well we never heard anything back about electronic cutouts.AFAIK the project was never finished. Just dumping exhaust under the car and no permanent wiring.
My advice is stay within the law if you have visual inspections.

Lol the cutout is on there and works great, I'll take some photos tomorrow. I would go that route, I got tired of not having mufflers on the highway.

I would go that route, I got tired of not having mufflers on the highway. I remember you claiming numerous times, and even a youtube video, saying that there's no drone ;D Hahaha, just giving you a hard time. Mine only droned at one speed - 67mph. Literally anything above or below that speed (I don't recall the RPMs) was 100% quieter. lol

Yep! MPG will go down! Its hard to keep your foot out of, lol. I like the rumble but there is a drone on the highway. Thank god I don't sit in the back seat, but the kids with their Ipods don't complain at all!

If I stick the tips out far enough will there still be a drone?

haha yeah I know I won't. I don't do much highway driving anyway and I never drive without music anyway so it shouldn't be bad

I know it's on there and works, but how/where are you routing the exhaust and where is the permanent switch location and wire routing? That's what i meant. Pics, pics, pics. Might be next mod after I switch back to stock.

what i did was i had my exhasut shop do a custom set-up. i had 2.5in pipe from the cat back with a singe glasspack where the resonator was. here is a video of how it sounds. imageshack.us/clip/my-videos/847/tnp.mp4/

If you want raspy then a muffler delete is perfect! It doesn't sound bad but there is definitely a somewhat raspy/tinny tone to it.

In all honesty the best exhaust I have heard on Aurora is this. Which was my inspiration. .. and it is legal everywhere(except increase in decibels but no one cares about that).
You need headphones or a good stereo.

Hahaha I know I said the same thing when I did it. I was sitting in the waiting room while they were welding in the straight pipes and when they started my car to pull it out I got up and look wondering whose car it was, and then I realized it was mine and couldn't stop smiling haha. Take a video if you can!

I think he meant people IRL sall.. lol Yeah, with the factory resonator there was an assload of popping, well... when downshifting manually xD to sound awesome. However, I hate popping! I replaced the factory resonator w/ a glasspack & got some awesometips, and it went away

Lol yep. People at school didn't know it could sound like that. One of my buds kept giving me crap saying it was a v6 like the riviera even though he knew it was an 8 lol. Real life, not people on videos haha

So i did the muffler delete today...it. Sounds. AWESOME! So glad i did it! Kinda fun eh? Now when you turn the key you know it started, lol. Nice gentle rumble leaving the neighborhood, then she cackles when you get the to the faster roads. Entering a freeway is a good place to make a little noise...
