Where's the supercharger?

the supercharger was on the front of these motors, not on top. (for hood clearance) and look more like a turbocharger, then a roots type.

Wow, nice find! It's pretty pricey though...

Wow, nice find! It's pretty pricey though... It's not bad at all, esp. if it's brand new engine.

Well, for a Shelby engine yes, but I meant like generally - a few years ago somebody posted brand new 4.0s for $1000. Yeah, but that was the regular 250 hp version. If I had the money I would probably buy it - there's never too much power, huh?

Yea I'd love to get it also, but I'd be too nervous. I wouldn't want to encounter any running problems in the case it doesn't work with the Stock PCM...we'd be screwed and I couldnt afford any downtime...not to mention the stock tranny probably couldnt handle all that HP

All it is blocked off EGR and 4.6L 300HP variation camshafts. Trans can handle it but I am not sure what trans you need(differential that is). Ask Shelby he has one.

Runs fine, would run better with a tune, but all your sensors do their job in keeping the a/f ratio. I have the autobahn(3.71 ratio). It is more beneficiary to have 3.71 so you can make better use of the high rpm power.

I still say for a new (or unused rather) motor thats a dang good price. Probably could use some new gaskets though. Brand new 4.0's for $1000? Point me that way haha

A brand new 4.0 for a grand is one crazy good deal, specially since so many of them fail in low milage cars

^That might not be modified, has egr and flywheel. Mine had a throb bearing in center of the crank and no flywheel, plus egr blocked. Brass is easy to see. I've been noticing some differences on ones that were confirmed modded and ones that may not have been. This doesn't make what I say fact or not just simple observations

I got mine (new Shelby engine) for 500 bucks from ebay and the same seller sold the Shelby Borla headers with catalysators for 27 bucks. I just bought it for spare and thought to swap it some day. Headers are useless in Aurora but couldn´t resist. I was the only bidder. I´d like to confirm that the engine is Shelby but I don´t know exactly where to check. Do you shelbyracing have cam part#?

I never had a chance to pull my valve cover, but could tell it was prepped because it had block off egr plates (crate motors comply with egr regulations) also had pilot bearing in center of crank. I know there is a way to check the cams numbers directly though. A caliper should work too.

Look at the coil packs and intake. That motor was never in or expected to be in a Series One. SC'd L47 for the Series 1 This is how they came in crates EDIT; pic resized
