Sallc5 You are looking at vents that i made. Had a sheet of perforated steel that I got from my work. Perforated steel is like sheet metal with a bunch of small 1/4" size holes. I Had cut them out using a template i made. And out of sheet metal cut a boarder approx half and inch around the out side as a decorative piece. Took a little bit of time but the over all goal was to get the after market look of a grill insert for the car because i have not been able to find any. And over all i have very little into in other then my time and i am very pleased with the way it turned out.

Plastidip. So you can peel it off later if needed/desired.

On one side it has the normal tabs similar to what the original had. And on the other side there is a nut and bolt that runs through a hole thats allready in the bumper

Like it! The 2G lower front needs a face lift and this was really nice job. Maybe chrome as an alternative to paint them black? Great work!

Chrome might look alright. I actually have several sets of stock vents so i painted one a silverish chrome type deal. it looked okay but didn't stand out as well as the black does.. but maybe if these vents were professionally chromed it might be sharp.

Getting stuff chromed is expensive so is vapor deposit(not that we are talking about that). My favorite 2G grill mod thus far has been awhelage LED DRL.

We have a full powder coating operation here at work, I could see what it would cost and if you paid shipping I could spray them for you here. We don't chrome things but we have a high metallic chrome powder that's pretty close to the real deal. Probably wouldn't be too cheap tho, even at cost.

Looks great. I bought one of those cheapo Harbor Freight powder guns a while back. They do as good a job as the $5000 guns for what we need. Small parts - just bake in your home oven.

did you ever try painting the stock grills black, then spraying them with a gloss clear coat? I think that would look much cleaner than the stock grey.....

That's called the cover at www.gmpartsdirect.com P/N 12483111. See the 2G Aurora parts catalog at www.weekendwars.com/aurora2/parts/gen2.pdf under "front Bumper". It's #21 in the diagram there.
