My front end is starting to get bouncey. I figure it might be time to replace the struts. I believe they are the originals. Are there any quick struts or ready to mount complete strut assemblies made for 1st Gen?

Yes they do. Just go to ebay and put in oldsmobile aurora quick strut. Be sure to read the description for which generation aurora there selling the struts for. From what i noticed as far as the classics i see there only available for 98-99 im not sure why that is. I dont know the difference between 95-97 and 98-99 front strut assemblies. What year aurora do you have??

'98-'03 share the same setup, there was a slight change in the upper strut mount. According to aurorabrain you have to cut a small slot to get them to work on '97 and earlier. I am surprised '95 would be listed, I thought they were really different, but maybe the struts are the same design.
"Lucerne struts are not a direct bolt on unless you have a '98+ Aurora due to the 3 strut mount holes . 97 requires the relocation of the strut mount holes, but only 1 hole has to be changed(the one closest to the fender has to be elongated at a 90 degree angle and made closer to the fender edge). 95-96 steering knuckles are cast iron and the mounting holes for the strut in the knuckle are closer together and will not work. If you change to newer knuckles you still have to change the strut tower like the '97. You can't swap mounts and struts either because the springs are a different shape from the top to the bottom.
The only one that has to be changed is the hole closest to the fender, it has to be turned into a "T" shape (moved out to the edge of the fender) but only about 1/2". This was done by using an old 98+ strut mount that i cut to be just a plate, (cut the center out so it was flat) and then i used it as a template to make the hole in the correct location where the bolt pattern didn't line up. I would have to remove a strut to take a picture."-aurorabrain

I have a 1999 non-autobahn Classic. Are there any quick struts that are recommended?

There are no quick struts for the 98-99 to my knowledge. Rockauto list a leacrea quick strut for 95-96 but the mounts do not look correct to me.Who knows on that one.
The ones Renaldo linked to on eBay don't cross on Monroes site. They show up as 98-99 Riviera/98-05 Park Avenue. The strut used in those assemblies is a different part number than used on 98-99 Aurora(or 2G for that matter).
98-99 Riviera/98-05 Park Avenue Sensa-Trac - 71665 98-99 Aurora Sensa-Trac - 71684 01-03 Aurora Sensa-Trac - 71685
for reference: 95-96 Aurora Sensa-Trac - 71822 97 Aurora Sensta-Trac - 71664
So, I don't think the Monroe 171665(Riv/Park Avenue quick-strut) or the Monroe 171685(2G quick-strut) will work on the 98-99 Classic despite their similarities.

I built my own Monroe sensatracs with new AC delco springs. The ride quality was the same as the 150k mile struts i had just pulled off. If you want a stiffer ride go KYB

Darn it. What's confusing is, obviously the park avenues, and 2nd generation are interchangeable with the 99 aurora, but if you go to monroes website they don't have ready mounts listed for the 99 aurora.
